Power connectionR Use only the power source marked on the

Operating safeguardsR Unplug the product from power outlets

ConnectionsR If you do not connect the telephone line

cord and use only cellular lines, set thecellular line only mode to use this unit moreconveniently (page 19).

Note for connectionsR The AC adaptor must remain connected at

some areas of your home have poorcellular reception, simply by placing yourcellular phone in an area with goodreception.

– talk on cellular calls even if your cellularphone is in your pocket or bag.

Important:R Your cellular phone must support the

Hands Free Profile (HFP) specification.R You may pair 2 cellular phones and 1

headset.R The unit can be used to talk on 2 lines at

the same time (for example, 2 cellular lines,or the landline and 1 cellular line).

Baby monitorThis feature allows you to listen in on a roomwhere another handset is located, allowingyou to easily monitor from different areas ofthe house or even while away from home. Themonitored handset (placed in a baby’s room,for example) will automatically call themonitoring handset, base unit, or the phonenumber stored when it detects sound.Important:R Before using this feature, we recommend

that you test this feature and adjust thebaby monitor sensitivity as needed,especially if you plan to monitor fromoutside.

R This feature should not be used as asubstitute for a medical or caregiver’ssupervision. It is the caregiver’sresponsibility to stay close enough tohandle any eventuality.

Note:R If the unit is connected to a PBX system,

you cannot set the baby monitor.R During the monitoring mode, battery

consumption is faster than usual. Werecommend leaving the monitored handseton the base unit or charger.

Caller ID featuresWhen an outside call is being received, thecaller information is displayed.Caller information for the last 50 callers islogged in the caller list from the most recentcall to the oldest.R If the unit cannot receive caller information,

the following is displayed:– “Out of area”: The caller dials from

an area which does not provide a CallerID service.

– “Private caller”: The callerrequests not to send caller information.

– “Long distance”: The caller makes along distance call.

R If the unit is connected to a PBX system,caller information may not be properlyreceived. Contact your PBX supplier.

Missed callsIf a call is not answered, the unit treats it as amissed call. The display shows “Missedcall”.Note:R Even when there are unviewed missed

calls, “Missed call” disappears from thestandby display if the following operation isperformed by one of the units:– A handset is replaced on the base unit

Phonebook name displayWhen caller information is received and itmatches a phone number stored in thephonebook, the stored name in thephonebook is displayed and logged in thecaller list.

Caller ID number auto edit featureOnce you call back an edited number, the unitwhich was used to call back remembers thearea code and format of the edited number.The next time someone calls from the samearea code, caller information is customized bythe unit as follows:– When the call is being received, the Caller

ID number is displayed in the same formatas the edited number.

– After the call has ended, the caller’s phonenumber is displayed in the same format asthe edited number, when reviewed from thecaller list.

For example, you can use this feature to setthe unit to ignore the area code of callers inyour area, so that you can call these localnumbers using caller information withoutdialing the area code.To activate this feature, you must edit an entryin the caller list, then call that number. Voicemail isan answering service that may be offered byyour phone service provider. This service canalso record calls when you are unavailable toanswer the phone or when your line is busy.Messages are recorded on the phonecompany system and not on the unit’sanswering system.R To use the voicemail service rather than the

unit’s answering system, turn off theanswering system (page 58).
