Chapter 4

Alice couldnt have been happier to see Jasper in New York.

They ran at each other like in those old movies, hugging and

kissing. I smiled at them from a distance. They were still madly in

love after all the years together. You could say they were newly

weds the way they acted.

Jasper noticed me and opened his arms up to me. I grinned

and launched my arms around him. It was nice to see that Jasper

had controlled his thirst from the last unfortunate visit. He didnt

seem that distant too without the family over crowding him. He

was very talkative like Alice. The only difference was that he was

actually calm. Alice was practically bouncing off the walls.

The airplane was moving our luggage onto the next flight.

They connected so there was no need to get it. Jasper was in for on

surprise when he would see the three bags Alice packed. I had left

a space empty in my duffle bag because I had a feeling Alice

would buy me clothes where ever we went.

The next flight was in an hour. I went snooping around in a

bookstore while Alice and Jasper sat down at the gate. Being on

time was very important to Alice. I browsed the section of new

books. I had no idea where to start on the big shelf. There was

movement beside me, and I looked over to see a boy.

He had short brown hair and brown eyes. His nose was

slightly unsymmetrical and his fully lips were too pouty. He

reached for a book in front of me and I stepped back to get out of

the way. He took the book and stared at the one I had in my hands.

He and I locked eyes.

So, you like horror? He asked.Uh, I looked down at the cover. I had no idea what it was.

I was just searching for something to read on the plane ride. I

admitted.

He nodded. He grabbed a book and handed it to me. It

seemed like a drama romance. This ones good. Ive read it about

a hundred times. He smiled.

You read a lot?

Well, yeah. He brushed back his hair nervously. Hmm, it

was nice to know I wasnt the only one shy here. Its really the

only thing I do. I dont play sports.

Neither do I. What is your favorite book?I had never really wanted to get to know a boy before (Well,

there was one I will not mention). This boy could be a possible

friend.

He laughed slash groaned. Thats hard to say. I love the

classics, but there are a few decent writers these days.

I agree. Favorite classic? I asked as we walked to the

register to pay for the books.

Umm, Wuthering Heights. The lady at the counter rung

him up. She dropped the books into a plastic bag and read the total

out loud. He thanked the woman and paid the fee.

Wow! Me too! I smiled.

We talked for the remaining hour left between us over a cupof coffee at the nearest caf where my gate was. His name was

Adam, a college student visiting Rome for a project. Adam liked a

mix of rock and pop music. His major was English and it was his

sophomore year at Oregon State University. His dog that he shared

between his two roommates liked long runs and hours upon hours

of playtime. Our conversation didnt get far, but we exchanged

numbers (Alice bought me a cell phone after many protests). We

took pictures of each other for the picture when out numbers

flashed on the screen.

Alice and Jasper arrived at the caf the same moment Adam

and I were hugging each other farewell. He would be a good friendto talk to. I waved bye and we went our separate ways. Alice was

grinning and jumping up and down. Jasper was chuckling at his

wife and me.

What? I asked the two of them.

He was so cute! Alice squealed.

Jasper frowned.

But not as handsome as you Jazz. Alice kissed his cheek.

Jasper lighted up.

Whats his name? Oh wait I already know because I saw the

whole date! Alice giggled.

It was my turn to frown. We were not a date Alice. I bet you

have conversations with Emmett over blood.Jasper and Alice laughed.

But were brother and sister. A boy you meet who is a

complete cute stranger that buys you coffee counts as a date.

Alice dared me to argue.

Does he have a girlfriend? She continued.

Not that I know of I trailed off.

Yes! Availability! Alice clapped her hands together. The

person behind the desk at the gate called for first class and she

skipped merrily to the front. I turned to Jasper and whispered

lowly.

Is she going to be like this to every single boy I meet?Jasper made sure his wife wasnt listening before answering.

Probably, but only to the ones she approves of.

We both sighed. We loved Alice to death, but a person could

only take too much of her. The flight was perfect. The food was

exquisite and the book was really great. I may have to ask Adam

what to read next. I closed it with a sigh and rubbed my hand

across the glossy cover.

Youre thinking about him arent you? Alice gave me a

somber smile. She knew it wasnt Adam she was talking about.

Yes, Alice. I bit my lip.

Itll be okay. You can get over him. Hes just one guy.Alice patted my hand.

I dont think I will Alice.

Why?

You have no idea how much I care and love him.

London in a passing glance was already amazing. We drove

by Big Ben and the London Eye while seated in a cab. This was

new to me. I had never been out of the country before. The people

in London drove on the opposite side of the road, had funnyaccents, called a subway a tube, and still had those police outfits

with the weird rounded hats and night sticks. England was

completely the opposite of America.

Jasper and Alice were used to the sights while we drove

along, so I could only infer that they had been here before. We

pulled up to a fancy looking hotel with white marble exterior and a

name written gracefully on a plaque on the entrance. A bell boy

helped us with our things and asked where the bags should be sent

to. Alice told him the room number and he was off.

Jasper checked in at the front desk and received three room

keys. One for me, Alice, and him. We entered an elevator and

pressed the top floor. The button turned yellow when pressed. Theelevator dinged when we reached our floor and we strolled out into

the carpeted hallway.

Modern art pieces adorned the cream colored walls. Some

were bright and cheerful while others were dark and brooding.

There were green plants of each shape and size around every

corner in pots or set upon tables.

Our room was the one on the very end. It had a bigger door

than the others so I expected a nicer room. And I was right. The

kitchen was spacious enough to accommodate a large group of

people, two bed rooms (one for me and one for Alice and Jasper I

guess), an entertainment area with a television, and a terrace thatgave a view of London in the morning before the sun rose, and as

the sun set. I let out a tired yawn. It was night time here in London,

but morning in Washington. I should be awake, but all the flying

has made me drowsy.

The luggage was already in the sitting room near the door. I

grabbed my bag and announced to Jasper and Alice that I was

going to go to bed. They wished me pleasant dreams and retired to

the sofa in the entertainment area. I changed into my pajamas,

brushed my teeth and hair, washed my face, and went to bed.

The last thing I saw was the book from Adam, and the first

thing that popped into my head as I drifted off to sleep wasEdward.

Chapter 5

This is an amazing view! I exclaimed.

Jasper, Alice, and I were in the London Eye, at the very top

so there was a view of London. The Eye was a big Ferris Wheel in

London that could take up a numerous amount of people at a time

to look over the busy city.From here there was a good view of Buckingham Palace, Big

Ben, and the fancy bridge that stretched across the water. Jasper

had made jokes about searching for Hogwarts at the top. Alice had

corrected him that humans could not see it. He then shot back that

they were not humans themselves. This argument lead on for thirty

minutes.

There were boats by the water below. People were eating

lunch on the boats or talking to friends from what I could see.

From this height, people seemed to be half the size of my pinkie.

There was thing in common between Washington and

London though. It was very gloomy and rainy outside. During our

visits to the sights in London five days ago, an umbrella or raincoat was an essential. Nothing I wasnt used to.

Our first days here were unbelievable. Our first stop was at

the London Aquarium. There were many colorful fish of all

different types from the tropics to the regular cod fish. The exhibit

that scared me though, was the shark exhibit. They kept giving me

this hungry glance while swimming. I thought it was my

imagination until I saw Jasper was doing it. I hit him. Alice

enjoyed the little Clown fish and named them Nemo. She chanted

just keep swimming, just keep swimming! over and over again.

Our second stop was Shakespeares Globe Theatre. There

were crowds upon crowds of tourists surrounding the stage. Iadmired the art structure that was a stage. I could imagine

Shakespeare himself standing on that very stage. We saw a show

that was played later on. It was A Midnight Summers Dream. I

loved the twisting romance and the evil fairy Puck. It was well

done by the whole cast.

Next was the British Library. It seemed modern on the

outside, but inside it blew my mind. The ceilings were ridiculously

high with stacks of books upon books on towering shelves. It was

one of the largest libraries as Alice said. There was art work of

course on the ceiling with huge lanterns hanging from it. Men and

women sat on long tables with reading lamps to shine while

immersed in a book. Only if we had more time I could be readingas well, but Alice hurried from one site to the next at a dizzying

speed.

We had also gone to the Eltham Palace, Fitzroy House, Ham

House, Neasden Temple, and the Piccadilly Circus. Jasper enjoyed

the games and night clubs at Piccadilly Circus to my surprise. He

was often so calm.

Now it was our last day in London. The bags were packed

and ready to go in the rental car below. Jasper and Alice came up

behind me. They had gone off to a separate section of the carrier

we were in to get a better look at the buildings on the other side.

The Eye began to descend downwards. I sighed.Whats wrong Bella? Alice asked.

I dont want to leave. There are so many sites I want to see.

Dont worry, well come back when youre changed. But

now, I want your human experiences to be good ones.

I thought Jasper would be opposed to what Alice said. But it

is inevitable either way. Jasper simply smiled and draped the free

arm that wasnt holding Alice on me. I blushed lightly.

And thats when shell give you the full experience. Jasper

told me.

Full experience? I said nervously.

Oh yeah, well do stuff when humans are still asleep.Alices eyes glowed with excitement.

Like?

Thats for us to know and for you to find out.

I huffed at Alice. I did not like secrets being kept from me.

Our carrier landed at the bottom and we got out and went in the

car. I sat quietly on the leather while watching the scenery. It

would be great to come back soon.

Carlisles p.o.v.

I sat behind my desk in my office at home, searching for ane-mail for work tomorrow. I logged in and sifted through the junk

mail. The sound of Edwards footsteps stepped out the door. Yes!

Hes gone! Who am I kidding! I wasnt looking for an e-mail for

work, I was looking for an update from Alice! No one at the

hospital had my e-mail address! Why do I have one anyway?

I shook my head and went back to scrolling. Ah ha! Alices

e-mail address appeared between a catalogue update and

advertising company one. I clicked on it. I smiled at what I saw.

Alice, Jasper, and Bella were smiling together in front of Big

Ben in London. There were a bunch of pictures of them in

locations around the city. I laughed at one.

Alice had attracted a bright orange fish and was pretending tokiss it while it was facing the camera on one side. Bella was in the

lower corner staring at Alice like she had fallen off her rocker.

There was another with Jasper imitating a lion fish. His lips were

puckered and his fingers were at his head, splayed out in different

directions. At least the three of them were having fun.

I went through all the pictures and read the note Alice had

left for me at the end. She said they were having fun and couldnt

wait to go to Paris! I smiled and leaned back in my chair.

The family wasnt supposed to know about how I was

keeping contact with Bella. Emmett had a big mouth, Rosalie

would tell Edward as soon as she could because she never likedher, and Esme would want in on the plan too. Three people already

attracts enough suspicion. I was going through the pictures again

when I heard the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs.

I quickly turned off the computer and scrambled to opened a

file for work tomorrow. As soon as the door opened I put on a

calm mask. Edward stepped into the room. I looked up from the

file.

Yes? I placed the file back on the desk.

Has Alice sent anything back yet? I wanted to ask her some

questions, but I didnt know if she would be busy. Edward

trailed off. I knew exactly what he meant. Only he would think of

sex as gross. The poor boy.No, nothing yet. Ill make sure to tell you though when she

does. I nodded. Edward thanked me and walked out of the room. I

filled my head with the boring surgical video we had to watch

today to keep Edward out of my mind for a while.

I breathed a sigh of relief. That was close. Ill have to open those when hes out

hunting. I ran a hand through my hair. This was going to be a tough five years.

I LOVED adding Carlisle in. Even though it was short and I

promise to add more, I still loved it. I was going to give you a tour

through the characters eyes in London, but Ive never been there and

wouldnt know what to expect. I just really typed in the best things I

knew. There will be drama in the later chapters, but still stay tuned if

you like. Ive been on a major writers block lately because theres

drama in my family. Thank you for all the nice notes and or comments

and I try to do the best I can if someone has a complaint or whatever. Ido review notes and comments, so dont think I ignore them. Thank

you!

P.S. I will be out of town A LOT this summer so I will try and

keep up and try to bring my laptop with me.
