WHY ENDIS ?
endis switchgear have no termi-nal compartments.
Plug-in modules replace swit-ches, contactors, and discrete monitoring technology.
There are no conventional dis-connecting switches. Every plug-in unit is part of the dis-connecting device.
The power bus with plug contacts for the plug-in modules replaces conven-tional wiring. This saves space. All switchgear have standardised slots (Types 1, 3, 6, and 10), into which a plug-in module suited for the slot type can be inserted.
COMPACT SWITCHGEAR
We have gone a step further, however. We have combined the transformer and switchgear
into a single unit. In the case of trans-formers of the TEK type, terminal boxes or switchgear can be switch onto the primary and/or secondary voltage side.
TRANSSWITCH
TransSwitch (transformer and switchgear unit) is even more compact. It consists of a flamepro-of enclosure for the transformer and switchgear and is inconsiderably larger than a transformer alone, whilst still being a complete power station with insulation monitoring and lighting and con-tactor outputs.

MODULAR TECHNOLO-GY
Modular technology? That isn‘t anything special.
But endis is. Our modular technology differs consider-ably from the standard.
There is no connection be-tween the plug-in module and the switchgear for pow-er and control lines, which have to be connected man-ually.
endis
DISCONNECTING DEVICE FOR EVERY PLUG-IN MODULE
Only one disconnecting switch for several plug-in modules? Or even only one for the entire switchgear? That was not enough. In the endis system, every plug-in module has a disconnecting device. A plug-in module is disconnected from the power bus as follows:
• Lift the lever of the disconnecting device.• The monitoring circuits are disconnected and the plug-in module is shut down.• Turn the lever of the disconnecting device to the left.• Remove the plug-in module from the power bus.• The feed contacts are covered to prevent contact. In case of medium voltage, the shunting contacts are also earthed.• Short circuit release test
An appropriate plug-in module is available for every application, whether as a power contactor for a large drive, a double contactor for low to medium power drives (even as a double reversing contactor), insution monitor with lighting outputs, or a power switch for medium voltage.
The plug-in module must only be pushed into the switchgear and switched on using the discon-necting device. In the process, all connections are established automatically. Nothing else is necessary.
INTEGRATED CONTROL AND MONITORING ELECTRONICS
No individual monitoring components have to be set by hand. A protective module, an electronic unit that assumes all control and monitoring functions of the plug-in module, has been integrated into the plug-in module:
• Insulation monitor• Short circuit and
overload protection• Locking device against
accidental earthing with functional test
• Phase monitor (failure and unbalance)
• Temperature monitor• Pilot circuit (overload/
PE monitor)• Control system of the
vacuum switching
tubes
EASY PARAMETERISATION
The protective module in the plug-in module com-municates with the display module in the switch-gear via a serial data bus. There, the most im-portant information from the plug-in module are displayed, and all parameters are set and saved as a protection against a voltage loss. The flame-proof enclosure of the switchgear does not have to be opened for this purpose. After a change of the plug-in module, the values stored in the display module are automatically transferred to the protective module in the plug-in module and stored there. A re-entry of the parameters is not necessary.
PLUG-IN CONNECTIONS
In the case of the endis switchgear for low vol-tage, there is no excessive work for the laying and insertion of lines and for connecting them to terminals in tight terminal compartments.
endis
The PC (Power Connector) plug system covers the spectrum of mains voltages up to 1.1 kV and nominal currents 400 A. All three designs with nominal voltage 250 V for lighting systems and 1.1 kV for small and large drives have flameproof enclosure „d“ type of protection when assem-bled.
The assembly of both 1.1 kV designs is very easy and can also be performed underground. Due to the solid, completely screwed construction, the plugs can be reused. Switchgear for medium vol-tage 3.3 kV are also available with plug-in con-nectors, of course.
SYSTEMATIC CONTROL
The plug-in modules in the switchgear can be controlled in parallel via contacts, but also
serially using field bus adapters through our BE-TACONTROL, MINCOS, MINING MASTER, PRO-MOS, and PROMOS PLUS system families.
All external connections are created using plug-in connectors. This saves time in the installation.

• Innovative switchgear with modular technology and plug-in connections, which redefines the con-cept of a compact station.
• Both slots can be equipped with a power contac-tor unit.
• Every plug-in unit has its own circuit breaker and earthing device.
endis
• The operating parameters and tripping limit values for the plug-in units are entered in the display and control units in the intrinsically safe terminal compartment. The compact station does not have to be opened or shut down for this purpose.
• Simple connection using plug-in-connectors reduces the installation costs. Fast trouble shooting due to modular technology minimis-es downtimes.
COMPACT
A plug-in connector attached directly to the flame-proof enclosure makes it possible to do without voluminous terminal compartments and to offer compact switchgear that also does justice to the term “compact”.
MODULAR TECHNOLOGY
The plug-in units are ready-for-use units. They are just inserted into the switchgear and activated by the cir-cuit breaker – more is not required. Two power contac-tor units of the type HPC 450-3 can be operated in the KE 3002 V2.
POWER BUS
Several compact stations can be connected in series via the connections for the power bus on both sides.

CIRCUIT BREAKER
Each plug-in unit has its own circuit breaker. In the disconnected state, the plug-in unit is removed from the power bus and completely electrically decoupled from the switchgear. The quick-acting door cannot be opened until all plug-in units have been disconnected.
PARAMETERISATION
The operating parameters for every plug-in unit are set on the display and control units in the intrinsically safe terminal compartment and per-manently stored there. As soon as the plug-in unit is switched on, the values stored there are trans-ferred to it. If a plug-in unit is changed, no new entry of parameters is required.

• Quick opening doors on HV cubicles
• 11kV modular rackable switchgear
• Integrated 1.1kV motor starters
• Flameproof transformer housing
• Minimal maintenance
• Fast fault recovery
• External tap change facility
TEK 1640 OVERVIEW
The Becker Mining TEK 1640 is a compact 11kV/1.1kV flameproof substation which has been designed specifically for the global coal mining industry. Using the leading Endis technology the no bolt door and modular electrical design the substation consists of an oval tubular shaped flameproof tank which is welded together from steel sections and reinforced with internal and external steel bars to absorb the tensile loads that can be experienced during transport in mines
Fitted to each end of the tank are flanges which the modular HV and LV enclosures are fixed. The corrugated tubular form prevents the accumulation of dust and offers an optimal heat dissipation surface.
The primary is fitted with an 11kV HV cubicle type PHR and the secondary is equipped with a 1000 V cubicle type PBE1008.
The compact design makes it less obstructive in the underground environment and provides many installation options including monorail and BSL mounting.
PHR HV (11KV) CUBICLE
The flameproof 11kV Exd cubicle is flange mounted to the transformer primary.
The 11kV CB compartment with quick-opening door is fitted with an 11kV plug-in circuit-breaker module providing electrical protection for the transformer.
The quick opening door is mechanically interlocked and can only be accessed when the outgoing circuit is isolated.
When the 11kV Circuit Breaker is isolated it is physically racked away from the power bus. The the load side of the bus section is earthed automatically via a mechanical mechanism when isolated and an inspection window provides visual observation of the earth contacts.
An I.S. compartment on the side of the PHR is fitted with graphical displays for parameter setting and viewing the operational status of the transformer primary and secondary fault limiting devices (isolated neutral and restricted neutral).

FUSE FREE TECHNOLOGY
The use of vacuum switching tubes with a nominal breaking capacity of 31 kAeff at 11kV makes power fuses redundant. Fuse failures due to age and the resulting downtimes no longer occur saving time and money.
Fuses inherently degrade overtime and potentially disrupt operations unnecessarily when they fail and increase preventative maintenance requirements.
PARAMETER SETTING AND MONITORING DISPLAY
Protection parameters for both HV and MV Switchgear are set via
the display modules installed in intrinsically safe compartments on the flameproof cubicles. The stored parameters are communicated via serial bus to the circuit breaker modules and no additional parameter setup is required if the circuit breakers are changed.

SWITCHGEAR OVERVIEW
The PHDI and PHDO High Voltage switch cubicles are designed in accordance to “d” flameproof protection and are used for HV electrical reticulation and protection in underground coal mines. The Becker Mining PHDI and PDHO 6.6/11kV flameproof switchgear uses our market leading Endis technology that has been designed specifically for the global coal mining industry. Although a new concept for the Australian market the no bolt door and modular electrical design has been manufactured since 1994.
The HV cubicles PHDI (incoming) and PHDO (outgoing) are designed to stand individually or to be coupled in a switchboard configuration also enabling distribution ring mains.
PHDO (11KV) CUBICLE
The switchgear type PHDO is used exclusively cable protection purposes. It can be used individually or coupled on the left or right for distribution switchboards and with high-voltage switchgear type PHDI.
The PHDI can be fitted with:
• A vacuum circuit-breaker module type HVCB–SE.• Adapter and “half coupler” or cable entry fittings
for cable connection.• A lighting module IMTU-HT for auxiliary power
circuits• A field bus adapter type FB058.3 for connection
to BETACONTROL.• A field bus adapter type PE4200AT for connection to the PROMOS AST.• A door interlock contact.
The PHDO has a lamp provided for the incoming phases, the lamp is supplied with power via capacitive coupling in the bushings.
PHDI & PHDO HV CUBICLES
The flameproof HV modular switchgear units are for supply and distribution purposes, the units are free standing and consist of three separate compartments:
• One (1) “d” Device and output compartment.• One (1) “d” incoming and busbar compartment.• One (1) “IS” – IP 56 compartment for display and
monitoring.
The device compartment with quick-opening door is provided with an HV plug-in circuit-breaker module providing electrical protection for outgoing circuits, the quick opening door is mechanically interlocked and can only be accessed when the out¬going circuit is isolated. In the “off” position the circuit breaker is completely disconnected from the bus.
The outgoing circuit is connected to earth potential in a disconnected condition via a mechanism (earthed). An inspection window allows observation of the earth contacts.
The Incoming and Busbar compartment is where HV connections can be made directly to the terminals in the compartment via bushings or via HV receptacles and allows up to two supply cables to be connected and busbars to be mounted.
