‘Beauty & The Beast’ is a documentary recently aired on Channel

4 which looks at the different lifestyles lived by someone with a

facial disfigurement, and a beauty obsessive. The show not

only looks into the daily routines of the two people, but it gives

them each a chance to live in the others shoes.

Beauty & The Beast- About the Programme

Each week, Adam Pearson (featured on the slide) looks into

different aspects of advertising and why people with facial

disfigurements aren’t ever seen.

Beauty & The Beast- The Target Audience

The documentary ‘Beauty & the beast’ targets mainly females, in the sense that women tend to be more body conscious and feel more need to appear ‘beautiful.’

-The audience for this programme is incredibly wide, targeting women 16-50 year old (although more specifically 16-25 year olds.)

- Older women especially have become more vulnerable within the beauty industry due to the launch of anti-ageing creams; which has caused massive uproars in the media suggesting its wrong to grow old naturally.
