Orston Playground Association Volunteers Needed The Playground Associaon Commiee are seeking new volunteers to join us. We are a fun and friendly commiee responsible for the maintenance of the playground behind the school. We organise the Annual Bonfire every year to raise funds. Retox Dance Pay Retox is a grown-up dance party to be held on Saturday 3rd February 2018 8.00-midnight, Orston Village Hall to celebrate the end of Dry January and also the andote to depressingly expensive nights out in Nongham that are never as good as when you were younger! Smoke machine and laser, great DJ and fun with your friends! All proceeds will go to the Millennium Green Trust. Tickets will go on sale in November. Our most subscribed show to date! With 63 entrants exhibing, up from 51 in 2016, a wonderful range of vegetables, fruits, flowers, cookery, beverages, craſts and photography. Orston Produce Show Chairperson Lyn Churcher said: Each year our Produce Show just gets beer and beer. We are so fortunate to receive sponsorship from our local businesses, the Parish Council and Councillor Francis Purdue-Horan. It was a fantasc day, thanks to our hard working commiee, volunteers, Judges, Stewards and Orston and Thoroton WI who provided refreshments.The judges made their rounds viewing, tasng and marking. At 14.30 the doors opened and in came the public eager to see all the amazing produce on show. And what a sight it was - well done to everyone who entered. You did us proud. Save the date for next September - with some interesng addions to the classes. Marie Curie Christmas Event SAVE THE DATE Lets do it for Lynn …..AGAIN! Saturday 2nd December Orston Village Hall Join in on an evening of food, drinks and plenty of entertainment. A dedicated fundraiser in Orston, Maria Pride, would like to promote a Christmas event she is holding in memory of her friend Lynn Busby. Zebra Express are going to be performing throughout the evening of food, drinks and plenty of entertainment. Maria has given herself a target of raising £2,000 so any support you could offer would be amazing. Further details to follow later. Sing for fun If you love to sing Orston Rocks Village Choir is for you. No singing experience is necessary, you do not need to read music and there is no audion. Simply turn up and join in.
