La Fruitière Vignes Blanches 12b 110.40 9.20
Val de Loire IGP, Famille Lieubeau 2019
“Unoaked blend of 40% Chardonnay, 40% of the Muscadet grape Melon de
Bourgogne and 20% Sauvignon Blanc grown on granite and gneiss in Muscadet
country and picked at night. Well-integrated ingredients make a most attractive
whole with a bit more body than the simplest Muscadets. Crisp and fresh – a
taste of spring? Great aperitif or accompaniment to shellfish. Clean as a whistle.
Good Value, 16/20 (12%).”
- Jancis Robinson, www.jancisrobinson.com, 1st May 2020
Viognier 12b 114.00 9.50
IGP Pays d’Oc, Domaine Gayda 2019
Domaine Gayda’s location high in the hills on the western edge of the
Languedoc gives a style of Viognier that is tighter in style than one might expect
from this sun-drenched sector of southern France. This is an attractive, pure,
peach-scented wine. Palate is light, dry and linear. Whilst there is richness,
acidity is lively and the finish vivacious (13%).
Vinho Verde Escolha 12b 105.60 8.80
Adega de Monção 2019
Very pale lemon-green colour, aromas of this Vinho Verde are clean and pure, recalling
freshly squeezed limes. Palate is crisp, lively and fragrant - very light bodied and
energetic. This is a gloriously fresh white wine, with pithy acidity and a long, zippy finish
(12%).
Muscadet Sèvre & Maine Sur Lie 12b 112.80 9.40

Grüner Veltliner Lössterrassen 12b 152.40 12.70
Weingut Stadt Krems, Kremstal 2019
With over 550 years of history, Weingut Stadt Krems is one of the oldest wine-producers
in Austria, yet their approach is innovative, the results being wines that are clear
expressions of the region`s indigenous grapes. This 2019 is a brilliant, pale lemon-green,
with aromas of ripe citrus fruits and delicate white peach. It is a clean, stony wine, with
ample richness and a long, dry finish (12%).

Kumeu Village Hand Harvested Chardonnay 12b 153.00 12.75
Kumeu River, New Zealand 2018
A great entry level Chardonnay from the prestigious Kumeu River Estate, this is
a blend of fruit from Kumeu and Hawkes Bay. 80% of the fermentation was in
barrel, not new, the remainder being in tank, resulting in a wine that combines
attractive, ripe lemony aromas with delicate, flinty spice. Light in body, this is a
wine of lovely finesse and balance (13.5%).
Chardonnay Caliz 12b 160.20 13.35
Kellerei Kurtatsch, Alto Adige 2018
This beautiful Chardonnay is full of flavour yet has a vibrant freshness that
enlivens the palate, thanks to the 300-400m altitude at which these vines
grow. Pale lemon, nose is very fine and pure. Palate is a bright, precise, citrusy
mouthful - we particularly encourage lovers of good Chablis or Mâcon not to
miss this (13.5%).

complement vivid fruit. With intense greengage and gooseberry aromas, there
is piercing Sauvignon freshness in the mouth, with wonderful clarity of flavour,
full body and a fine texture. The finish is concentrated and crisp (13%).

Sancerre Terre de Maimbray 12b 215.40 17.95
Pascal et Nicolas Reverdy 2019
Pascal Reverdy produces an ultra-precise, concentrated Sancerre. The same
strata of Kimmeridgean chalk that gives Chablis its classic zip surfaces in the
Reverdy`s village, Maimbray. This 2019 is very pale gold, aromas being taut,
with notes of honeysuckle - very fresh. The palate is intensely flavoured and
expressive, with chalky minerality and a beautiful, fine texture. The finish is
long and complete (13%).
Montlouis Sec Rémus 6b 128.40 21.40
Domaine de la Taille aux Loups 2018
100% Chenin Blanc, “Rémus” is the result of the first harvesting sweep of the
12-hectare Clos du Mosny vineyard, where vines average 50-80 years in age.
The colour of this 2018 is a brilliant lemon-green, with pure apple aromas,
and gentle hints of fresh hazelnuts bringing complexity. Intensely flavoured
and linear on the palate, the texture is satiny, with breath-taking freshness to
finish. A fabulous wine, to treat as one would a fine white burgundy (12.5% –
organic).
Pouilly-Fuissé 12b 285.00 23.75
Domaine Dominique Cornin 2017
The Cornin Pouilly-Fuissé is predominantly fermented in tank, to give a wine of purity
and elegance. It has a lovely aroma, being both peachy and lemony. The class of the
wonderful 2017 vintage shines through on the palate, this having beautiful concentration
of flavour and depth. It is a rich wine, with fine texture and a lifted finish (13% - organic).

Château Picque Caillou Blanc 6b 145.50 24.25
Pessac-Léognan 2018
Paulin Calvet has produced a splendid 2018 white Bordeaux that is vivacious
and racy. A blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc with 20% Semillon, this aged for
7 months in oak barrels of which 30% were new, with 40% having contained
a wine for one year, and 30% having held two harvests. This precise barrel-
ageing policy allowed for the beneficial effects of oak ageing, without risking
the wine’s piercingly fresh fruitiness being muted. The wine is pale, green-gold,
with very clean, Sauvignon aromas of great purity. The palate shows explosive
fruit from the start, the middle being rich without heaviness, the finish balanced,
supple and refreshing (for drinking 2020-2023+) – 12.5%.
Amos Alto Adige Bianco 6b 135.00 22.50
Kellerei Kurtatsch, Alto Adige 2017
Amos comes from Kurtatsch’s most exposed, hilly vineyards, at 600-900 metres
above sea level. An intricate blend of 40% Pinot Bianco, 20% Chardonnay,
15% Pinot Grigio, 15% Kerner and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, it shows Alto Adige’s
high-altitude winemaking at its best: power, fragrance and elegance at once.
Pale lemon colour, aromas are beautifully concentrated, recalling fresh white
peach and rose petals. Palate is full and fleshy, with rich middle fruit held
in place by precise structure. The finish is long flavoured and full of finesse
(13.5%).
Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Murgers des Dents de Chien 12b 426.00 35.50
Domaine Françoise et Denis Clair 2017
This is one of Saint-Aubin’s top Premier Cru sites, lying close to the Montrachet
hillside. It is thanks to the plantation of these sites by growers such as the Clair
family, that Saint-Aubin has progressed so much in recent years. One very old
vine-block, aged 80 years, has other parcels beside it, aged 20 and 35 years.
All benefit from excellent exposure to the sun, gentle breezes and free draining
soils. Green-golden in colour, this 2017 has superbly fresh aromas and a richly
complex, magnificent palate. It is crisply intense - the flavours finish with
incredible energy (for drinking 2020-2025+) – 13%.

Château Paret 12b 112.80 9.40
Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux 2016
“80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Close to the border with St-Émilion.
Unoaked. Straightforward crimson. Very little visible sign of evolution. Very
frank, zesty unadorned Bordeaux fruit with very racy, agreeable sandy tannins
on the finish. An honest country claret. Looking at the bottle, your guests could
easily confuse this with a wine costing five times as much, NB. Very Good
Value, 16/20 (14%).”

Schiava Sonntaler 12b 166.80 13.90
Kellerei Kurtatsch, Alto Adige 2018
Indigenous to the Alto Adige, this Schiava comes from the oldest Kurtatsch
vineyards, growing between 300 and 400 metres above sea-level. These old
vines produce naturally low yields of high-quality grapes. The 2018 is the
prettiest of colours: a very pale, bright, glinting ruby. The aromas are floral
and enticing, with rich hints of caramelised cherries, vanilla pod and orange
peel. This is a charming, lively, light bodied wine, with a stony purity and a
beguiling, creamy texture (12.5%).

Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu 12b 144.00 12.00
Domaine de Verquière 2018
The legend of the Plan de Dieu (‘Plain of God’) goes back to the Middle Ages: it
was said that anyone who ventured into this area of thick scrubland, peopled by
bandits, would do well to put their trust in God. Vines now thrive in this sector
of the Côtes du Rhône, where clay soils are laced with pebbles. This 2018 is
a vital expression of Grenache (80%) and Syrah (20%). Aromas are alluringly
concentrated: ripe raspberries and strawberries. Palate is full bodied, with
satisfying depth of fruit, velvety texture, richness being perfectly balanced by
freshness (14% - organic).
Chinon Rouge Les Chiens Chiens 12b 165.00 13.75
Domaine de la Noblaie 2018
Chiens Chiens is from a vineyard of the same name, with cool, clay soils. 100%
Cabernet Franc, it aged for 14 months in 500 litre oak barrels (10% new),
which has enhanced the wine’s beautiful, cassis and floral violet scent. Deep
ruby-purple colour, aromas are multi-layered and fragrant. This is a full, fleshy
mouthful, with supple tannins, the finish being lifted and satisfying (14% -
organic).
Cent Visages, Touraine Côt 12b 164.40 13.70
Jean-François Merieau 2018
Côt is the local name for Malbec, here coming from a parcel of vines averaging
50 years of age. The wine remained in concrete tanks for ageing, to give utmost
purity and elegance to this naturally rich style. Colour is deep purple, with
intensely perfumed notes of blackberries and violets. This is a splendid mouthful
with fullness, silky-smooth texture and an energetic finish (12.5%).

and consists of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 12 months,
two-thirds in French oak barrels and one-third in concrete. Dark crimson. Rich,
dried-fruits nose with lots of evolution and pleasure. Really ready to drink.
Layers and interest. Good Value, 16.5/20 (14%).”

Bourgueil Prestige 12b 198.00 16.50
Domaine de la Lande 2015
The Bourgueil vineyards run along a limestone escarpment on the north bank
of the Loire. This ‘Prestige’ cuvée comes from vines planted mid-slope, where
deep clay combines with limestone, accounting for the power and depth
we regularly see in this wine. Deep ruby-purple, aromas are intense: floral
blackcurrants and spice. On the palate, this is full and densely packed, with the
intricate structure one expects from top quality Cabernet Franc. This is still in its
youth (we recommend decanting it), and will gain further savoury complexity
over another 10 years – the 1989 vintage is still drinking beautifully (13%).

La Petite Muraille, Le Champ des Murailles 12b 127.80 10.65
Corbières Rosé 2019
A new listing with the delicious 2019 vintage, this rosé from the Corbières is
a blend of Grenache Noir, Grenache Gris, Syrah and Carignan. Colour is very
pale pink, aromas being pure and floral. Palate is light and lively, combining
delicate, ripe strawberries with lemony freshness. The finish is bright, clean and
satisfying (12.5%).
Domaine Pique Roque Rosé 12b 132.00 11.00
Côtes de Provence 2019 3m 79.80 26.60
“I have written up and also bought this wine every vintage for well over a
decade and it is safe to say that this is the grandest and also the prettiest release
I have seen. Grandest because the fruit is so strict, well organised and mineral-
drenched and prettiest because the top notes are blushingly floral and demure.
This is a triumph for Pique Roque and I will be pouring this wine, again, this
year in my garden (12.5%).”
- Matthew Jukes in MoneyWeek, 2nd April 2020
Sancerre Rosé Terre de Maimbray 12b 184.20 15.35
Pascal et Nicolas Reverdy 2019
Pure Pinot Noir, this Reverdy Sancerre rosé is gorgeous with this 2019 vintage.
Incredibly pale in colour (thanks to minimal skin contact, the wine being made
by direct pressing of the red grapes), aromas are lifted and alluring, with notes
of wild strawberry, pink grapefruit and elderflower. The palate is super fine:
bone-dry, silkily-textured, with a concentrated core of pure, perfumed fruit. The
finish is long flavoured, clean and full of finesse (13%).

Lively Sparkling Wines
Lunatico Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Spumante 12b 208.20 17.35
Francesca Rizzi 2018
Certified organic, from vines located high in the hills of the Veneto, this is a
racy, elegant, fully-sparkling Prosecco, bursting with green apple, green melon
and fresh lime flavours. Light in body, texture is creamy and rounded, the finish
being bright, crisp and uplifting (11.5% - organic).
Gatinois Brut Tradition Champagne 12b 375.00 31.25
Grand Cru Aÿ NV
This Grand Cru, grower champagne is made in tiny quantities by Louis Cheval-
Gatinois, who is the 12th generation of the family to be making champagne in
the village of Aÿ . The family owns 7.5 hectares of vineyards, which are tended
as if they were a garden, using sustainable practices. Pinot Noir is at the heart of
the blend (80%), giving the champagne its powerful and structured backbone.
Chardonnay brings a counter-balance of acidity and liveliness. Colour is a
thrilling, mid-gold, with persistent bubbles. Aromas are intense and lifted,
flavours recalling brioche, hazelnuts and delicately perfumed red berries. Full
bodied, with marked structure, the finish is long lingering and refreshing (12%).
Henriet Bazin Blanc de Blancs Champagne 6b 189.90 31.65
Premier Cru NV
Henriet-Bazin’s vines are predominantly located in the Montagne de Reims,
this Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs being a single terroir Chardonnay from pure
chalk soils in the village of Villers-Marmery. A particularity of this House is
that their reserve wine (30% of the final blend) is held in a Solera, a practice
more commonly seen in the wineries of Jerez. The gradual, fractional blending
of vintages, dating back to 1968, contributes rich complexity. Pale lemon-gold
in the glass, with vivacious bubbles, aromas are lifted and fine: lemon pastry,
freshly baked bread. Palate is fine and linear. This has richness, good depth of
flavour and a fresh finish (12.5%).
