The HeaderAll you really need in you header is a line like this
\documentclass{beamer}
However that will leave it looking very bare so you may want toalso add the line
\usetheme{Malmoe}
Also you can add most any other packages and macros youwould usually use in the standard way
\usepackage{amsthm}\usepackage{times}\usepackage{graphicx}...

The Frame
The main structure of a presentation is just the slide which iscalled a frame in Beamer.
The simplest way to create a frame is just
\frame{\frametitle{ Frame Title}Content...}
With in a frame you can put almost any regular latex that youlike.

Title Page
Your first frame will probably be a title page:
\begin{document}\frame{ \titlepage }
With just these tools you can make a pretty nice presentationbut really you would like just a little bit more.

Simple Commands
BEAMER has included useful environments like theorem,lemma, proof, definition, corollary and example. Note that anenvironment has to be ended in the same frame it was started.Also included is the alert command to bring extra attention to aword.

ExampleFor example the code
\begin{theorem}There are at most \alert{six}integral solutions to the equation\[c_1\theta_1ˆx + c_2\theta_2ˆx+c_3\theta_3ˆx = 0. \]\end{theorem}
looks like
TheoremThere are at most six integral solutions to the equation
c1θx1 + c2θ
x2 + c3θ
x3 = 0.

Itemizing
You can create a list where each point shows up separately(this is called showing up in separate overlays) just by using thecode
\begin{itemize}\item<1->{ Content} \\\item<2->{ Content} \\\end{itemize}

Pause
However there is really nothing special about an itemize list.You can stop a frame anywhere you like (almost) with thecommand
\pause
Note that the pause command does not put in any carriagereturn or spaces so if you want extra space you had better addit yourself.
Be warned that you can not stick a pause in an alignenvironment. When you do funny things start to happen withthe slide.For most presentations these tools will be plenty. HoweverBEAMER can do much more than this so let’s explore a fewother things we can do.

Sections and Subsections
You may have noticed the section structure that is illustrated inthe frames. This is simply done by adding section andsubsection tags between the frames like so
}\section{Getting a little fancy}\subsection{Organization}\frame{

Table of Contents
You can also set a recurring table of contents to appear byadding the following to the header
\AtBeginSection[]{\begin{frame}<beamer>\frametitle{Outline}\tableofcontents[currentsection]\end{frame}}
This can be changed to appear at the beginning of subsectionsby changing ”Section” to ”Subsection.”

More Overlays
When I use the term overlay I mean slides that share a frame.
The easiest way to do this is to just use that pause command.However there are many times where the pause behavior isn’tquite right. For this reason we also have the commandsuncover and only along with the overlay specification < · >.

Uncover
Sometimes when you reveal more and more of a slide you donot simply want to hide from one point on; rather you would liketo reveal the middle last. Perhaps you are proving throughcontradiction that there are infinitely many primes then youmight have
Proof.
Suppose, for contradiction, that p were the largest prime. Let qbe the product of all the primes less than or equal to p. Thenq + 1 is not divisible by any prime smaller than it. Thus q + 1 isalso prime and greater than p.

How this works
The new code used here is
\uncover<2->{ Content}
The overlay specifications are given in pointed brackets. Thespecification < 2− > means from slide 2 on. Thus, the first andlast statement are shown on the first slide of the frame, but theother two statements are not shown. Rather, the secondsecond is shown only from the second slide onward. beamerautomatically computes the number of slides needed for eachframe. More generally, overlay specification are lists ofnumbers or number ranges where the start or ending of a rangecan be left open. For example -3,5-6,8- means on all slides,except for slides 4 and 7.

Note with the uncover white space is left for the unexposedslide.Sometimes you want parts to appear and disappear and for theformating around to shift. This can’t be done with uncover.

Example
fn + fn+1 = fn+2
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8Another place you may want to use only is when you are usingwhen you are using the proof environment and you have aproof that is too long to fit in a frame. Here you can put eachpart of the proof separate slides. One does have to be carefulin using only in things like tables because since the layoutchanges based on what is changing you can sometimes getannoying ”wobbles.” In the case of tables I recommend usinguncover along with hspace.

Alert and Overlay Specs
Sometimes you may want to bring attention to something.Sometime you only want attention for a certain period of time.
That is what the alert command is for. Further more you canattach an overlay spec like < 2 − 2 > to an alert to only bringattention to it for a certain period. You can do the same thingwith emph; you will have to experiment to see what else overlayspecifications work with (they don’t seem to work withunderline).
