LINDENWOOD FOOTBALL GAME

By KeJuan a.

On September 7, about 20 Club members went to the Lindenwood football home open-er against Northeastern State University. The members made two lines to high five the foot-ball players when they ran out on the field. Felix W., one of the members who went to the game, said, “The players were really big and the mas-cot was veeery energetic. My hand was very sore after they all high fived me.” Lindenwood dominated the first half of the game. After half-time, the Riverhawks got a touchdown and a field goal but they still lost to the Lions 49-10. Lindenwood rushed for 417 yards, setting a new school record.

MIZZOU FOOTBALL GAME

By KeJuan a.

During week two in college football Mizzou played the South Carolina Gamecocks. The game started at 6:00 pm. Missouri quarterback Drew Lock threw 32 passes, and receivers only caught 14 of them. He had one touchdown and two interceptions. South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley threw 18 successful passes and one touchdown. The Tigers started the game very slowly. Mizzou led the game by ten points until South Carolina came back with a kick re-turn and dominated the game. South Carolina beat Mizzou 31-13.

THIS MONTH’S CARTOON

BOOK REVIEW: STUDY HALL OF JUSTICE

By leo s.

This story is about Bruce Wayne, but as a young kid. All of the superhe-roes and villains are kids. Bruce is the new kid at school and he doesn’t fit in because he’s normal. He’s not strong and he doesn’t have superpow-ers. Kids think he’s weird becaust he has bats in his locker. The story is mostly about the kids trying to figure out why strange things are hap-pening. Diana and Clark Kent were acting crazy and hurting everybody, but Bruce found their weaknesses. Bruce, Di-ana, and Clark make a detective club. The Brain is getting hacked and turns very dangerous. My favorite part was when all the kids got int heir cos-tumes. My least favorite part was when Clark and Diana were evil.

MOVIE REVIEW: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2

By leo s.

The Guardians of the Galaxy were flying to another planet but there were these enemies that they had to get away from. They had to fight the enemies while they were dodging meteors. They crashed into a planet, met Gamora’s sister Nebula and arrested her. Then Mantis and Ego flew up in a sphere-egg. Ego told Peter that he was his dad and he helped Peter find his powers. Ga-mora and Nebula found something scary inside the planet and trie to warn Peter, but he wouldn’t listen. Finally, Peter listened to Gamora and Nebula and the Guardians of the Galaxy worked together to defeat Ego. My favorite part was when Baby Groot was dancing at the beginning. My least favorite part was when Peter was almost defeated.

DEAR FREDDY,

At school I need help with math but the teacher can’t always help. What should I do?

- Ms. Mathmetician

DEAR MS. MATHMETICIAN,

You should get a tutor or an older sibling to help because they might know the trick to solving your math problems.

DEAR FREDDY,

Whenever the football coach is talking everyone else is talking. This is not good for the team. What should I do to help?

- Football Player

DEAR FOOTBALL PLAYER,

You should tell your teammates to be respect-ful and be a role model.

DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION FOR FREDDY?

You can give your questions to any of our Beacon reporters and they will pass them on to Freddy. If you want to ask your ques-tion in private, you can write it down and put it in Freddy’s advice box in the Learn-ing Center. Maybe you’ll see your ques-tion in the next edition of the BGC Beacon Monthly!
