Ask For Help When You Need It.

▪ Professors will not know you need help until you ask for it.

▪ It can be unsettling and uncomfortable to ask, but it will be well worth it in the end.

▪ If you don’t have time to meet with someone in person, email them or ask to have a phone conversation.

Own Up To Your Mistakes and Take Responsibility

▪ The first semester of college is often times the hardest.

▪ Why?– New environment– New friends– New challenges– New expectations from

society/family/friends

▪ If you make a mistake, it’s okay!– We’ve all made them.

▪ The most important thing is – taking responsibility for the

mistake– learning from it– and moving on

someone you’ve never met.– Sit by someone in your class

you’ve never worked with.– Avoid eating lunch in your room

or at home.– Search Orgsync for student

organizations with similar interests to yours.
