When to stop and listen…

If I say “Eyes & Ears”, you need

to put down your pencil/pen, look at me, and

get ready to listen! No talking!

If I say “TIMEOUT!!!”,

(just like in sports) you need

to freeze and stop talking. Chances are I

need to explain something important.

Eyes & Ears TIMEOUT!!!

AND NOW…YOUR FIRST ACTIVITY…

Ms. Banjavcic will divide you into groups and give you a textbook unit number.

Once in groups, have the materials person get a piece of paper, marker and textbooks for your group.

The person who is the writer needs to write the letters of the alphabet on the paper with plenty of space in between each letter.

Open your textbooks to the unit number that was given to your group.

Find a topic/idea/vocab word for each letter of the alphabet. The writer needs to write that word next to the corresponding letter.

You must stay within your unit number and cannot use the glossary or index.

We will share answers as a class and compile a list of the many topics we will be learning about this year.

Write two paragraphs about the topic you are most excited to learn about and why. Which topic sounds the most boring to you and why?
