club holding the test; it is up to the board of each club to determine this fee.

• If a qualified judge is not available to evaluate a particular test at a Centralized test day, that test may be taken at a low test day held by an-other club if a qualified judge is available. For example, the number of qualified judges for Di-amond dance is limited. The BC Region Test Committee will make reasonable attempts to accommodate these tests.

• If there is no low test day where a test can be taken, the BC Coast Test Committee will make reasonable attempts to hold the test on a spe-cial additional session. And if a club holding a low test is unable to obtain a qualified evaluator to evaluate a particular test, the skater may submit an application to test a low test at a high test day.

• All other exceptions/requests must be applied for and will be reviewed and decided upon by the BC Coast Region Test.

• With permission from the BCCR Test Chair, and providing the following conditions are met: a club has obtained a qualified and will-ing judge approved by the Test Committee Chair AND the registration process properly completed and paid through Coast Registry, a HIGH test MAY be completed at a Club’s LOW test day.

• If the BCCR Test Committee requests a Club to hold HIGH tests on their scheduled LOW test day, the Club will be reiumbursed 1/2 of the admin fee of the test collected.

BC Coast Region TAB 8FINDING A JUDGE/EVALUATOR for a Low or a Combined Low/High Test Day ***************** NEW NEW NEW ***************

·The test committee is now using a GOOGLE DOCUMENT to assist Clubs with procuring evaluators for their Low (and/or combined) Test Days. This google document should/will be accessible by ALL test chairs and all BC Coat Region Evaluators. If you are not able to access the document please let Siobhan or Denise know and we will send you the link. We ask that clubs/test chairs input the information (date, time, location, details) about their upcoming test days into the google document as soon as they know when their clubs will host test days. The more advance notice the better. Evaluators will be able to sign up well in advance of Club’s test days. This new method of matching evaluators to test days will hopefully alleviate last minute procuring of judges and will allow the judges/evaluators to plan accordingly.

The google document address is:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HFe2lGaMwmOK3Fku-j9qh5Z56ow7ec3ufzVyOxJ5qieI/edit#gid=1227044548

• Test chairs may still contact evaluators directly via email to request their presence at a low test day, be sure to specifically identify the subject of your email in the subject line.

• Remember to use low test judges for low tests where possible. They need to judge a cer-tain number of tests to earn their promotions, so call them first.

· THERE IS A JUDGES’ LIST which outlines judges and shows the level of tests they can evaluate. This list can be found at:

· www.agathos2.com/bccfsa User Name: judgesPassword: canucomeIf you contact a judge directly, bear in mind the judges’ qualifications. It might not make sense to ask a Diamond level dance judge to evaluate your Club’s Prelim and Jr Bronze dances, and like-wise if you need a Sr Bronze evaluator for dance tests please make sure you are asking someone who is qualified to do so. Below is an up to date list of evaluators in our Region.

BC Coast Region Test Committee TAB 9Centralized HIGH TEST DAY Guidelines& Procedures

The BC Coast Region Test Committee will make most of the arrangements for a Centralized Test Day; however, we rely on a great deal of help from our member Clubs. The committee will schedule and book ice for High Test Days, secure the Evaluators, create and distribute the Start List, and generate all of the necessary paperwork. But most importantly the Committee will call upon an experienced Test Chair to “host” or “run” the Test Day. Each Club in the BC Coast Region will be asked to provide volunteers for the various High Test Days.

The Host Test Chair will receive a package from the Test Committee containing: • Test papers with skater information completed for all tests being tried; in the event of

double panelling (two evaluators), the test papers will be separated accordingly.• Expense sheets for the evaluator(s) and Test Host (make copies)• A blank Summary Sheet (make copies)• Start List (make copies) - post on Bulletin Board; give a copy to Registration; ice level (Ice

Captain/starter); Music player;• Addressed and stamped envelope to return summary sheets and expense forms. (NOTE: if

it is light centralized test day, Penny may simply email the documents/papers to the host-ing test chair, in which case no envelope/postage will be provided)

The Host Test Chair is asked to do the following: • Complete (fill in) Summary Sheets and put Summary Sheet # on test papers.• Ensure that the Judge’s name and SC # are on the summary sheet/test papers. Please use

BLACK ink as blue ink doesn’t show up well on copies.• Prepare a clipboard for each judge with a Start List and the test sheets for all of the

skaters on their panel.• Purchase a small thank you gift/card for each judge at a cost of $25.00; this cost will be

reimbursed by the BCCR TC).

The following Volunteer Positions will be overseen by the Host Test Chair.• REGISTRATION - The Registrar will check in skaters and if applicable, take the skater’s

music CD and give it to the music player, and return it to the skater after the test. He/she will also direct the skater to the dressing room.

• MUSIC PLAYER - As required the music player will play skater’s CDs for their programs; if required he/she will play skills music. He/she is also responsible for playing the Dance Music. Please note that ISU music selections should be played at HIGH test days. If the Host Club does not have the ISU selections, the BCCR TC will supply them. Announcing is not necessary, but is permissible.

• ICE CAPTAIN/STARTER - 1 person to be in charge of getting the skaters on the ice, mak-ing sure the next skater is ready, keeping order at the gate, relaying information or re-quests to or from the evaluator, answering questions etc

Page 16: BC Coast Region Test... · (siobhanphilips@hotmail.com) 8 Skate Canada Test Fees ... BC COAST REGION ... et.chong@hotmail.com Home: 604-985-8147

• RUNNERS - 1 or 2 people who will retrieve completed test papers from the Judges and take them directly to the Audit Room/Area, and to relay information to or from the Evalu-ator(s) Note: test papers are not to be shown to anyone along the way.

• AUDIT AREA - 1 or 2 people (usually the Host Test Chair) to mark the Summary Sheets with pass/retry, and to ensure that the test papers are accurately completed by the Evalu-ator. Results cannot be released UNTIL the evaluators have signed off on the summary sheets. The results on the Start Order (pass or retry next to the skater’s name) must also be signed by the evaluators before they can be posted.

• HOSPITALITY - Depending upon the length of the test day, several meals may be re-quired and hot drinks should be readily available. It’s most appreciated by judges, volun-teers and dance partners to have soup, sandwiches, hot and cold beverages and some sweets available throughout the test day.

Skaters/Coaches may look at their test papers after the test is completed (and the summary sheets have been signed off by the evaluator) BUT these test papers are NOT to be removed from the Audit area.

At the completion of the Test Day, the Host Test Chair is asked to copy and distribute as fol-lows: MAIL TO PENNY NICHOLAS1448 Eastern Drive,Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 2S4

• ORIGINAL Summary Sheets• ORIGINAL of Signed Pass/Retry List;• Expense sheets for Judges & Host Test Chair (host test chair will be reimbursed for all

postage, envelopes, hospitality• Expenses/Receipts if food is not donated and Judges gift and any other Judge’s ex-

penses.MAIL TO HEATHER TKACZ10973 Garret PlaceDelta, BC V4C 7N4• COPY of Summary Sheets• JUDGE’S STATISTIC FORM FOR EACH JUDGE (copy located in manual)

PLEASE MAIL THESE ITEMS WITHIN 3 DAYS OF THE TEST DAY SO THAT THEY CAN BE PROCESSED PROMPTLY.

MAIL TEST PAPERS TO HOME CLUBS OF SKATERS TESTING These can be mailed directly to the Test Chairs of the applicable home clubs of the skaters — all addresses should be found on the test chair list in this manual, but if at all in doubt, please contact Siobhan or Penny.

If you have any questions about hosting/running a Centralized Test Day, please do not hesi-tate to contact Penny at [email protected].

BC Coast Region Test Committee TAB 10HIGH/LOW COMBINED TESTPROCEDURESWith permission from the BC Coast Region Test Committee a club’s skaters may complete HIGH tests at LOW test days. This is an exceptional and opportunistic situation and in each case strict criteria must be met:

1) The Club/coaches/test chair must be willing to allow the skater to test at a scheduled Low test day; 2) A qualified and willing Evaluator must be found and approved by the Test Committee Chair; 3) Permission to combine the high test(s) with Low tests must be granted by the BCCR TC Chair; and4) The skater MUST register, and pay for the test through Coast Registry

NOTES• A separate sign up/test day will be created on the Registry for each instance of a Club combining a

High/Low test day.• Skaters are encouraged to do tests at Centralized Test Days or competitions (if offered). There are

specific rules governing which tests may be tried at competitions and under what conditions. Please refer to the Skate Canada rules, or if in doubt ask the BCCR TC.

• If the BCCR test committee does not have enough ice/time at a Centralized test day, they may ASK a Club to consider allowing their own (and possibly other Club) skaters to complete HIGH tests at that particular Club’s low test day. In this case, the BCCR Test committee will refund the Club one half of the administration fee per registered test (i.e $6 per test tried). The payment will be cumulative and once per year.

STEPS IN HIGH TEST PAPERWORK1. The BCCR TC will email the host club:

• pre-filled Test Papers for the HIGH tests only;• pre-filled Summary Sheet for the HIGH tests only.•

2. The host club test chair will return by mail within THREE (3) days the following to PENNY NICHOLAS1448 Eastern Drive,Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 2S4• ORIGINAL filled in Summary Sheets (please use black ink);• ORIGINAL test sheets signed/initialed by the Evaluator (Test Chair can distribute the bottom

half of test papers to their home club skaters);• EXPENSE/mileage sheets for Evaluator.

NOTES• Skaters may view their test papers but they are not to be removed from the Audit Area.• LOW tests will be treated in the same way as they would be at a regular LOW test day (procedures

are outlined further in this manual).• Please note that in instances where HIGH tests are combined with Low Tests, the BCCR TC will not

reimburse the home club for costs associated with the test day such as judge’s gifts/expenses. It is understood that these costs would be incurred as part of the LOW test day and will be looked after by the Club. A reminder that the standard honorarium for an Evaluator is a $25 Gift Card.

• If you have any questions about combining HIGH tests at a low test day please do not hesitate to contact Penny at [email protected]

BC Coast Region Test Committee TAB 11 LOW TEST PROCEDURESPRE-PLANNING

1. Determine need for a Low Test session with your club coaches. Some clubs prefer to set the dates for test sessions for a whole year in advance. Clubs may decide to run tests during regular skating sessions (if there aren't too many tests), or arrange for ice to run separate test sessions.

2. Access the TEST DATE GOOGLE DOCUMENT: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HFe2lGaMwmOK3Fkuj9qh5Z56ow7ec3ufzVyOxJ5qieI/edit#gid=1227044548. Fill in Required fields: date, time, contact, types of tests to be tried; the earlier the test days are advertised, the sooner an evaluator will sign up.

3. If you are wishing to hold HIGH tests at your club’s low test day, contact Denise Mullen [email protected], to arrange for permission and to have her OPEN A TEST DAY REGISTRATION access on Coast Registry (and follow the procedures in Tab 10 regarding Combined High/Low Test Days).

4. Inform coaches regarding due date for Test Application papers, which is usually 2-3 weeks before the test day. Note - there is a template for a test application form locat-ed in this manual at tab 13. You can personalize that to your club.

5. Collect Test Application papers and money. Review Test Application papers for dis-crepancies/missing information, and check amount of money given.

6. If there are a large number of tests, sort papers into test categories (FreeSkate, Dance, Skills, Interpretive), and compile a list with skaters' names, coach/dance part-ner, test and payment. You may want to include the phone number and club of skater if not a home club skater.

7. If you haven’t received confirmation from an evaluator at least two weeks prior to the scheduled test day, inform Denise OR contact evaluators directly via Agathos — refer to manual but always check on agathos2.com/bccfsa to ensure that the judges you contact are qualified to evaluate the tests you have scheduled.

8. Create starting order. (Use guidelines on time needed for tests)

9. Inform coaches/skaters regarding approximate times of tests (you may post or email a starting order, or a list with times/tests/skaters).

10.Ensure that the following Volunteer Positions are filled at the Test Day:

• REGISTRATION: The Registrar will check in skaters and if applicable, take the skater’s music CD and give it to the music player, and return it to the skater after the test.

Page 19: BC Coast Region Test... · (siobhanphilips@hotmail.com) 8 Skate Canada Test Fees ... BC COAST REGION ... et.chong@hotmail.com Home: 604-985-8147

• MUSIC PLAYER - As required the music player will play skater’s CDs for their pro-grams; if required he/she will play skills music. He/she is also responsible for playing the Dance Music. Announcing is not necessary, but is permissible.

• ICE CAPTAIN/STARTER - 1 person to be in charge of getting the skaters on the ice, making sure the next skater is ready, keeping order at the gate, relaying information or requests to or from the evaluator, answering questions etc

• RUNNERS - 1 or 2 people who will retrieve completed test papers from the Judges and take them directly to the Audit Room/Area, and to relay information to or from the Evaluator(s) Note: test papers are not to be shown to anyone along the way.

• AUDIT AREA - 1 or 2 people (usually the Test Chair) to mark the Summary Sheets with pass/retry, and to ensure that the test papers are accurately completed by the Evaluator. Results cannot be released UNTIL the evaluators have signed off on the summary sheets. The results on the Start Order (pass or retry next to the skater’s name) must also be signed by the evaluators before they can be posted. Arrange for ice clean times and room/tables /chairs at arena.

11. Organize food/hospitality (it is suggested that food and drink be provided for judges for test sessions longer than 1 hour - you can always check ahead with the judge), and buy a small thank you gift for the judge. The Section guidelines suggest a mini-mum of a $25 gift card.

12. Arrange for ice clean times and room/tables/chairs at arena.

13. Fill out most up-to-date test papers (check with Skate Canada website); it’s always a good idea to have a few blank test papers for the various tests just in case there is a problem with any test sheets.

14. Prepare a final Starting Order and fill out Summary Sheets in black pen. (These should be done a few days before the test date in case of last minute changes). En-sure that there are enough copies of the Starting Order for posting/judge/trial judge/starter/music player/test chair.

15. Reconfirm evaluators and volunteers a few days before the date.

ON TEST DAY

1. Test chair should be all set up at least half an hour before the start of the test day.

2. Greet the Evaluator and show him/her to a warm area to prepare for the test day.

3. Have a Mileage Expense form available for evaluator.

4. Double check that everything is filled out by the evaluator on test papers, that the tallies are correct and that evaluator has signed them.

Page 20: BC Coast Region Test... · (siobhanphilips@hotmail.com) 8 Skate Canada Test Fees ... BC COAST REGION ... et.chong@hotmail.com Home: 604-985-8147

5. Evaluators must sign Starting Order sheet and write initials on Summary sheets after pass/retry indicated.

6. Have coffee/tea/hot chocolate and food ready for the Evaluator.

7. Post Start List in various locations (dressing room/lobby/ice level/music room). For LOW tests do not display the results (Pass or Retry); that information can be communicated to the skater/coach, after the Evaluator has confirmed the results on the summary sheet, but these results should not be publicly displayed.

AFTER TEST DAY

1. Sort all paperwork, distribute and mail (see separate procedure page for "Low Test Day Forms”).

2. Submit money, evaluator's mileage/expenses and test chair expenses to club treasurer.

3. Enter results in club test record book or computer record.

4. Let publicity person know of the Passes for club newsletter/website (optional)

5. Maintain records for test pins/medals (for year end Awards or Banquet).

Low Test Day Planning Tool

Suggestions / Reminders:

• Make sure that you have pencils for the Evaluator to write on the test sheets, but use black pen to write the results on the Start List and Summary Sheets.

• Keep parents and other skaters who are not testing away from the side of the rink where the evaluator is standing.

• Skaters should not be in the Audit room unless invited to do so by the Test Coordinator or Eval-uator.

• Do not let anyone know the results of the tests until the Evaluator has a chance to review the paperwork and sign the Starting Order and Summary Sheets.

• Do not give the bottom portion of the test paper to a skater until you have double checked that the result is recorded properly on the top portion of the paper.

MEDICAL PULLS & APPLICATION FEES Medical Pulls

It is up to individual clubs to decide how to deal with medical pulls for tests submitted for Low test days.

A suggestion would be to refund the Skate Canada fee for the test(s) to the skater if the Test Chair is convinced that the skater is withdrawing due to injury or illness. If your club charges a test application fee, that amount can be retained by the club. It will then be written on the Skate Canada Summary Sheet that the test was “not skated due to medical pull” in the Pass/Retry box. The fee will then be “$0”.

Application/Club Administration Fees

Most clubs charge a test application fee when a skater submits a test. This fee is usually used to help cover for ice costs and other expenses in running a test day. It is up to the discretion of the club to determine the fee amount for tests. Many clubs charge be-tween $7 and $10 for low tests.

It is suggested that the application fee is applied to each individual Freeskate, Skills, and Interpretive test submitted. If a skater is taking two different levels of a test (e.g. Preliminary and Junior Bronze Skills), the application fee is usually applied twice since that skater should be submitting two separate test application forms. The skater will not be allowed to test the higher level test unless the lower level test is passed, and usually does not receive a refund for the Skate Canada or application fee for the higher test if the lower test is a retry.

For Dance tests, it is suggested that one application fee can be applied to dances taken at the same level, whether they are taking one, two or three dance tests. If a skater is taking dance tests at two dif-ferent levels (e.g. One Preliminary dance and one Junior Bronze dance), it is suggested that a club can charge two application fees (one for each level), due to having to prepare two separate test papers and more surveillance by the test chair to ensure that the skater is allowed to take the higher level test.

Skate Canada Fees

PLEASE NOTE that as of October 2015, Skate Canada is charging $12 per test (all disciplines).

LOW TEST DAY FORMS

Test Application Form

• Club will determine its own application/admin fee and due date (which should be 2-3 weeks before the test day). The Skate Canada fee is$12 per test.

• Forms are to be completed in full by the skater/coach. • Once tests are completed, application forms can be discarded. • Included in this manual is a “writeable” Low Test Application Form which can be per-

sonalized to your Club. • NEW: Clubs may contact Kevin Gordon, at to discuss setting up an online registration

process for LOW TEST DAYS. Please contact Kevin directly at [email protected]. This is highly recommended.

Test Evaluation Sheets

• Ensure that you have the most current version of the test papers. They can be found on the Skate Canada website: www.skatecanada.ca (go to Members Only / Technical & Programs / Test Sheets).

• To be completed by the Test Coordinator prior to the test day. It’s a good idea to keep some spare (blank) test sheets handy in case there is a need for extras.

• Ensure that the evaluator signs both the top and bottom half of the test sheet once each test is completed.

• Top half of the test sheet should be kept by the Test Coordinator for at least a few years (best proof of test passed for Skate Canada if any discrepancies). Bottom half of the sheet is given to the skater.

• If a skater does not belong to your club, mail the entire test sheet to the skater's home club Test Coordinator (addresses are found on Contact List in Manual)

Skating List/Starting Order

• Develop the Start list based on order of tests; • Should include name of club, arena where tests held, date of tests, name of

evaluator(s) if possible, times of tests with skaters' names. Post a copy for skaters and/or give to coaches before the test day so that they know when to arrive for their tests.

• Once testing is completed, indicate pass or retry next to the skater’s name, and have the evaluator sign the list (use pen for this); even though this isn’t POSTED, it still needs to be done.

• Results (pass/retry) should no longer be posted publicly on Start List; • Test Coordinator should keep a copy of start lists in club files.

CHALLENGING GOLD TESTS Many questions are being asked about Skate Canada’s rules regarding challenging the Gold Tests. Hopefully the following explanations will help!

There is the opportunity for a challenge of the Gold Free Skate test, Gold Dance test and Gold Interpretive Test. The Gold Skills test may not be challenged.

GOLD FREE SKATE

A skater may try the Gold Free Skate test without passing the previous free skate tests. The challenge fee to Skate Canada for this is $60 for Part 1 and $60 for Part 2. The skater must also pay a test fee (i.e., the current rate is $12 per part) and applicable regional administration fees per part.

At test days a skater registers for and takes each part separately. If successful, the skater will be given credit for previous free skate test parts not yet passed.

Example  1:  A  junior  bronze  skater may  only wish  to  Challenge  Gold  test  Part  1.    If successful the skater would receive credit for Senior Bronze, Junior Silver and Senior Silver part 1 tests.  Total cost: $60 (Challenge fee part 1) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee part 1) + $12 (BC Coast admin fee part 1) = $82

Example 2: A junior bronze skater may wish to Challenge both parts of the Gold test.  They must  skate both parts and  if  successful would  receive credit  for Senior Bronze,  Junior Silver and Senior Silver parts 1 and 2 tests. Total cost: $60 (Challenge fee part 1) + $60 (Challenge fee part 2) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee part 1) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee part 2) + $12 (BC Coast admin fee part 1) + $12 (BC Coast admin fee part 2) = $168

(a) At competitions a skater without the pre‐requisite tests may challenge both parts of the Gold Free  Skate  test  in  a  non‐qualifying  event  if  entered  in  a  competitive  category.   When registering  for  the  test,  the skater will pay  the  fee  for Part 1 and Part 2 regardless of  the outcome.  If successful, the skater will be given credit for both parts of previous free skate tests not yet passed.

For example, if a skater has passed the Junior Bronze Free Skate test and then passes the Gold Challenge Free Skate test in a Juvenile competitive event, he or she would get credit for  the complete Senior Bronze,  Junior Silver, Senior Silver and Gold Free Skate  tests.  Total test cost calculation: $60 (Challenge fee part 1) + $60 (Challenge fee part 2) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee part 1) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee part 2) = $144

The Gold Free Skate test cannot be challenged in competition if the skater is entered in a STARSkate  category. A  skater  taking  the Gold  Free  Skate  test  in  the Gold  Free  Skate competition event must have passed all of the previous tests and if successful will receive credit for Part 2.

GOLD DANCE

A skater may try the Gold Pattern Dances without passing the previous Pattern Dance tests. If a skater successfully challenges 4 of 6 Gold dances they will be given credit for previous dance tests not yet taken and be awarded the Gold Dance set. A skater challenging one Gold dance at a time does not get credit for previous dance tests not taken and if they decide not to challenge any further gold dances they must first obtain the previous dance tests first.

The  fee  to  Skate  Canada  is  $60  for  each  Gold  Pattern  Dance  tested  plus  test  fees  plus administration fees.

(a) One dance:

For example,  if  the skater wants  to challenge  the Viennese Waltz but has not passed any Senior Silver dances the total cost is: $60 (+challenge Gold dance fee) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee) + $10 (BC Coast admin fee) = $82.

(b) Dance set:

For example: If the skater wants to challenge all (4 of 6) of the Gold  dances but has not passed any Senior Silver the total cost is: $60 (challenge Gold dance 1) + $60 (challenge Gold dance 2) + $60 (challenge Gold dance 3) +$60 (challenge Gold dance 4) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee Gold dance 1) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee Gold dance 2) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee Gold dance 3) + $12 (Skate Canada test fee Gold dance 4) + $10 (BC Coast admin fee 1) + $10 (BC Coast admin fee 2) + $10 (BC Coast admin fee 3) + $10 (BC Coast admin fee 4) = $328

GOLD INTERPRETIVE TEST

A skater may try the Gold Interpretive Test without passing the previous Interpretive tests ONLY IF THE SKATER HAS ACHIEVED HIS OR HER GOLD CERTIFICATE IN EITHER FREE SKATE OR DANCE OR SKATING SKILLS AND HAS MADE A SPECIFIC REQUEST TO SKATE CANADA BEFORE THE TEST IS TRIED.

The Club Test Chair must send the request to the Skate Canada National Office in writing (copying the Section Office) and must include the skater’s name, Skate Canada membership number, tests passed  (i.e., current  level of  test certification) and a  rationale/circumstances surrounding  the request. The Member Services Department will verify skater’s test levels and communicate the results of the request directly to the club test chair. These requests will be treated on a case‐by‐case basis.

If the request is approved the skater will skate one performance of their Interpretive program and  it will  be  evaluated  at  the Gold  level.    If  passed,  the  skater will  be  awarded  the Gold Interpretive test plus all tests not previous taken.

The skater must pay the regular test fees for the tests and for any lower level Interpretive tests not previously passed and applicable administration fees.

Page 37: BC Coast Region Test... · (siobhanphilips@hotmail.com) 8 Skate Canada Test Fees ... BC COAST REGION ... et.chong@hotmail.com Home: 604-985-8147

For example,  if the skater has previously passed the  Introductory  Interpretive test, the fees must be paid for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Interpretive tests. Total cost: $12 (test fee) + $12 (BC Coast admin fee tests) + $24 (Skate Canada test fees for tests not taken) = $48

GENERAL

There are specific codes to be used on the summary sheet for Gold tests that are challenged. This document is posted on the Club page of the Skating in BC website.

All dances may now be tried either solo or with a partner.

An evaluator may request a solo of a partnered dance in certain circumstances. However, solo skating at the request of the evaluator is not permitted for Preliminary and Diamond Dance test levels. Also, it is not permitted to request a candidate who is 25 years of age or older to skate a solo.
