    BC 101 LAB (Section B): Audio Procedures and Operation (Laboratory)

    1st

    Semester AY 2015-2016

    COURSE DESCRIPTION:

    Application of the basic theories of audio production, including studio and remoterecording; training in use of production equipment for radio and in relation to other

    forms of media production.

    COURSE OBJECTIVES:

    1. To be able to apply the students understanding of the theories and lessons ofaudio production and equipment.

    2. To be able to design a variety of effective audio productions.4. To be able to demonstrate proficiency of the skills basic to audio production,

    including recording, mixing and interconnecting various pieces of equipment.

    REQUIRED LAB MATERIALS:

    One cassette or digital recorder

    One set of stereo headphones

    USB flash drive and/or SD memory card

    Small envelope(s) in which to put USB flash drive and/or SD card and trackinformation paper for projects.

    GUIDELINES IN THE USE OF THE RADIO LABORATORY:

    (1) No phone calls or texting, discrete or otherwise, during laboratory class.(2) Use all equipment properly and wisely. You may bring a laptop, iPhone or

    other gadgets for classroom purposes.

    (3) Be punctual during scheduled radio productions or rehearsals. If you are morethan 5 minutes late for class by the clock in the radio studio, you or your group willforfeit your chance to use the production room for that day.

    (4) No bringing of food inside the production room or radio studio.(5) No tagging along of non-essential personnel inside the production room or

    radio studio.(6) You will be allotted a number of hours per week for production and rehearsals.

    In the event other students urgently need to be accommodated, I may cancelsome of your sign-up time after you are notified.

    (7) Please keep the laboratory clean and organized. The entire class is heldresponsible for the condition of the laboratory.

    - Microphone- Signal processing equipment
