Holiday House Walk The next biennial Holiday House Walk is planned for Friday, December 6, 2013. Please help us usher in the holiday season by opening your home to your neighbors for this festive evening!

We need four families to open their homes in order for the House Walk to be held. Past participants have said how much they enjoyed the evening and how nice it was to have their decorating done the first week of December!

Although it is still early, we would like to know if we have enough homes to proceed with plans. Please mark your calendar and let us know if you would consider taking part. You do not need to make a definite commitment at this time.

Please call:

Welcoming New Neighbors The Bordeaux Estates Social Committee presents each new family in our neighborhood with a welcome basket.

Baskets were recently presented to our new neighbors: the Salkeld, Lemon, and Varboncouer families.

The items in the basket were inspired by the film It’s a Wonderful Life: “Bread, that this house may never know hunger. Salt, that life may always have flavor. Wine, that joy and prosperity may reign forever.”

Meet the Lemon Family!

Welcome to Steve and Connie Lemon, plus their son Eric Lemon, who are our new neighbors at 1155 Cotes de Bourge.

Steve has just retired as Athletic Director at J.S. Morton High School in Cicero/Berwyn. He is now assistant loan officer at Municipal Bank. Connie is Director of Nursing for Hospice of Kankakee Valley. She worked at Advocate Hospice in the Chicago metro area prior to moving here. Eric, a sophomore at Bradley-Bourbonnais, will turn 16 in February.

Steve grew up nearby in Grant Park and has been looking forward to moving back to the area. Steve’s mother Emma Lou Lemon lives in Kankakee. The Lemons had lived in Oak Lawn since 2005. Prior to that, they lived in Woodhull, IL. They have three grown children who live out of the area.

In their free time, the Lemons love to travel. Steve is an avid golfer, and Connie enjoys gardening and traveling with a good friend, who is also an avid gardener, to visit gardens wherever they go. Eric enjoys electronic gaming with his friends.
