We want your old ink and toner cartridges, as well as any old and unwanted mobile phones. We can turn these into trees and money for 5th Hull. How? You may ask…. As part of the BB recycling scheme we get money for ink and toner cartridges as well as for mobile phones. In addition we can help the environment as for every collection made one tree is planted by Global Trees. We have already raised over £150 and had 7 trees planted through this scheme, but we still need your help. If you have any donations, please leave them outside of the BB cupboard door or hand them to Paddi. All donations will be very much appreciated! Volume 4 Issue 1 September 2009 Volume 4 Issue 1 September 2009 AnimalAntics The Anchors and Juniors had an amazing trip to East Park during the holidays. They began the day singing animal songs at Derringham Bank before boarding 5th Hull’s new minibus for the journey to East Park. Time in the play park and on the mini zip run was followed by a refreshing ice cream. Then the youngsters had a touch and feel session at the Animal Education Centre. They got to meet and hold snakes, snails, giant millipedes, stick insects, chinchillas and a tortoise. We then explored the centre meeting guinea pigs, bird, fish, goats, sheep and lots lots more. Lunch was followed by parachute games and other activities before making the journey back across Hull for a finishing colouring activity. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. 5th Hull were kindly donated a minibus from another BB Company in the Yorkshire and Humberside District. We held a bus clean during the summer holidays and 18 people turned up to help wash our bus. The minibus now has 5th Hull and Boys’ Brigade logos on it and we are looking at getting some more. Having a minibus gives us more and more opportunities to get out and about. We have used the minibus for our East Park Trip and our Speedway Trip and its also been on a run to McDonald’s. Speedway @ Scunthorpe Scunthorpe Speedway offered us an amazing deal and youngsters not only got to watch Scunthorpe Saints, but they received a programme and pen, free food and drink. In addition they got the opportunity to visit the pits and talk to the riders as well as being in the official team photograph. This was a fantastic opportunity for the Company and Senior Sections and they had an amazing time - lots of them want to go and watch Speedway again. Thanks to Scunthorpe Speedway for an amazing day!
