The MULTI-HEAT type is especially suit-able for effective and environmentallyfriendly firing with bio-fuels such as woodpellets, wood chips and grain/corn. Pleaseconsult the importer (or the factory) regar-ding possible use of other fuels.

Significant savingson your heat billsThe stoker boiler is especially applicable forowners of detached houses and the agricul-tural sector outside of the collective gridenergy systems (i.e. areas without districtheating and natural gas). Firing with woodpellets, wood chips or grain/corn in MULTI-HEAT can achieve considerable savings incomparison to oil. Such savings depend,amongst other things, on the type of fuel,purchase prices and the annual efficiency ofthe old oil boiler. Furthermore many localgovernments, and possibly yours, are givinggrants or subsidies for the installation ofMulti Heat boilers using renewable energyfuel.

Construction and functionThe construction of the boiler gives highoperational security, significant durability,good stoking economy, environmentallyfriendly combustion and simple operation.Depending on the heating requirement, thefeeder mechanism automatically leads asuitable quantity of fuel into the combustionchamber. Here the build-in blower producesa precise mixture of primary and secondaryair, resulting in a very high efficiency at89-91%.The temperature is regulated by a two-stepcontrol. This means that the boiler is run-ning at full output until the set temperatureis close to being achieved - then the controlswitches over to reduced output and conti-nues at this rate. If the boiler temperaturedrops slightly below the set temperatureagain, the control will once again switchover to full output. This control ensures con-stant heat - almost like an oil-fired furnace.With regard to the efficiency of the pre-combustion, the boiler size and adjustmentof the output ought to be only slightlygreater than the building's requirement.

The hopper must typically be filled up onceor twice a week during cold weather,however, this will depend on the heat requi-rement, hopper size and fuel. The possibilityof automatic feeding of fuel is also avail-able. Ash is removed as required.

A heat storage tankis unnecessaryThe boiler output can be regulated from100% down to 30% during continuous ope-ration and - by stoking at intervals - as lowas approx. 1 kW. In order to maintain theboiler outside the heating season, at leastone hot water tank (100-300 litres) as wellas 1-2 radiators or under-floor heating mustbe connected (open), but as such no largeheat storage tank of 1.000-1.500 litres is >^/necessary. Whilst firing at intervals, the use-ful effect is lower.In order to obtain the best possible yield asfar as the firing economy, the environmentand comfort are concerned, it is importantthat the boiler is correctly installed and ad-justed.

Solid qualityFlue gas-affected, water-cooled steelplates in the interior of the boiler are 6mm thick and especially exposed partsof the combustion chamber are of acid-free stainless steel.

Easy to place in the roomwhere it is to be set upThe flue-gas exit is from the topof the boiler and can easily be ledto the chimney. The doors are re-versible and can be openedtowards the left or the right.

Control panelThis is placed above the doors and isoperated from the front.

Cleaning the boilerRemoving ash and cleaning the firetubes can easily be carried out fromthe front.

MULTI-HEATCan be supplied with various sizes offuel hoppers (see technical details). Thedoor for the hopper is reversible so thatit is possible to fill up fuel either fromthe back, or from the right or left side. Wood pellets,

wood chips andgrain/cornThese are renewable, environmentallyfriendly, inexpensive and oftendomestic fuels which can replaceimported, more expensive and environ-mentally straining fossil fuels (oil).When firing with wood chips, a stirringdevice must be mounted in the hopper,as shown in the illustration.

MULTI-HEATA boiler for the future.

MULTI-HEAT is del ivered as an assembled uni t . Thehopper is fastened with bolts. The boiler and the hoppercan be separated so that internal transport is made easier.

The stoker boiler is delivered with an electronic controlunit which regulates the flow of fuel and air for the com-bustion. Continuously variable output can be set from100% to 30% during continuous operation. When the settemperature has been achieved, the blower must beswitched off and the control will switch over to firing atintervals. In the interval setting, the fire is maintained byfilling a small quantity of fuel at long intervals into thecombustion chamber and by connecting the blowerbriefly.Furthermore, the control makes it possible to produce di-gital readings of the boiler temperature, return tempera-ture and smoke temperature.

Behind the heavily insulated doors, it is possible to seethe horizontal heat exchange tubes with turbulators or re-tarders designed for maximum heat exchange efficiency.Behind the lowest door, the combustion chamber withthe ceramic combustion zone can be seen.There is plenty of room for cleaning and removing ash.

Draft stabiliser - extra equipment. Strong wind or a veryhigh chimney can cause excessive and fluctuating chim-ney draft. In such cases, the solution is building in a draftstabiliser, since the best combustion is achieved with asuitable and stable chimney draft of 1.0-2.5 mm watercolumn.

The gear motor draws or turns the worm conveyor/augerround and feeds the fuel into the combustion chamber atthe proper rate.

The sturdy and steady cover of the fuel hopper closestightly so that burn back is avoided.

When the covering plate between the boiler and the hop-per is removed, it is possible to see the ventilator whichensures the air necessary for combustion. Here, it is alsopossible to see the thermostat valve for the sprinklerwhich prevents retrograde combustion. Uppermost, it ispossible to see the opening for easy access for cleaningthe flue chamber.

Wood chips consist of wood which has been mechanical-ly chopped to a suitably small size. Fine wood chipsmust be used, 15-30 mm, or 5-50 mm with a maximumwater content of 25%.15 cubic meters of coniferous or soft wood can substituteapprox. 1000 litres of oil. *11 cubic meters of deciduous or hard wood can substituteapprox. 1000 litres of oil. *

Wood pellets are produced as by-products from the woodindustry, e.g. from chips and sawdust which are pressedinto pellets. 2.2 kilograms of wood pellets can substituteapprox. 1 litre of heating oil.

Grain/corn, for example from fallow fields or set-asideland (energy crops) can well be used as fuel.2.5 kilograms of grain/corn can substitute approx. f litreof boiler oil.Grain/corn can form clinker which must be removedfrom the combustion chamber as required. The co-delivered worm conveyor extension must be fitted in theevent of grain/corn stoking.

BAXI External Feeding Unit. You can obtain maximumoperating comforts and time-saving through installationof a BAXI External Feeding Unit for wood pellets andgrain/corn. By means of a gear motor incl. a worm con-veyor in a pipe system the solid fuel is automaticallyconveyed from a silo to the hopper of the boiler, if requi-red. Please see special leaflet for rurther information.

* The calorific values indicated are for guidance onlysince the comparison is dependent on several condi-tions, such as the composition and water contents ofthe bio-fuel.

VBF hot water tank

MULTI-HEAT can be installed as shown in this diagram. The separate hot water tank (for example the BAXI type VBF150 MK II overleaf) must be connected prior to the shunt valve. By means of correct adjustment, this installation willgive the possibility of firing at intervals outside of the firing season. It is possible to install the MULTI-HEAT with eitherclosed or open expansion.

Fuel:Suitable fuels: wood pellets, grain/corn and woodchips. During combustion of wood chips a stirrer oragitator must be fitted in the hopper (implementa-tion F). Model 1.5 is principally developed forfiring with wood pellets. If other forms of fuel aredesired, please contact the importer (or the factory).

Arrangement conditions:MULTI-HEAT must be set up in a room with a suf-ficient supply of air. The magnitude of the air-intake must correspond to the inside diameter of thechimney, however at least 0.02 m2.• The chimney draft must be at least 1.0-2.5 mm

water column.• Furthermore, the local building regulations in the

area of the installation must be followed.• Request, if necessary, further installation and

operational guidelines with further informationfrom the importer.

** Least recommended stand-by output whilstfiring at intervals so that the fire can be main-tained.

*** This is the minimum smoke temperaturewhich is achieved by approval of the mini-mum output. This smoke temperature is toolow for normal operation with ordinary chim-neys. We consider a smoke temperature of100°C to be the absolute minimum for ordina-ry chimneys. We have therefore built in analarm on the smoke temperature at 100°C.This is to say that if the smoke temperaturehas been below 100°C for half an hour, theboiler will stop. This alarm also ensuresagainst continually filling up with fuel if thefire has gone out.
