Bavaria Brewery (Spanish: Cervecería Bavaria), formally known as Bavaria S.A., is a Colombian brewery company founded on April 4, 1889 by Leo S. Kopp, a German immigrant. It is a subsidiary of SABMiller. Before the merger, Bavaria was the second largest brewery in South America

1889. The corporation Kopp's Deutsche Brauerei Bavaria was created on April 4, 1889.

1902. Cervecería Unión was founded in Medellín. 1910. La Pola beer was launched to the Colombian

market . 1913. Cervecería Barranquilla was founded. 1913. Águila beer was launched. 1930. Consorcio de Cervecerías Bavaria is created, as

a result of the merge of Kopp's Deutsche Brauerei and other regional breweries.

1933. Cervecería Barranquilla y Bolívar S. A. was founded.

1959. Consorcio de Cervecerías Bavaria changed its name to Bavaria S.A.

1967. Cervecerías Bolívar and Barranquilla were merged to create Cervecería Águila S.A.

The Águila's history begins in 1905, the year that the people of Barranquilla first try a beer brewed in his own hometown. Some businessmen had implemented the idea of starting a brewery and the brewery gave life to the firm Bolívar the Walters Brewing and Ice Making. This had the signature of some people of Cartagena.

One year after the outbreak of World War I, Barranquilla, which was already by then the provincial capital of the Atlantic, has its second brewery, Barranquilla Brewery, founded on April 10, 1913 with a capital of 159 000 Pesos (American Gold) and located on the shores of the "caño de arriba" that leads from downtown to the river Magdalena. The owners relied on their success and as documents of the period the company produced 6000 liters of beer daily. Cervecería Barranquilla gave the city 20,000 pounds of ice for daily consumption and its brands were: Águila, Escudo, San Nicolas and Gallo Giro.

In March 1967, the company name was changed to Águila Brewery SA, because their product was the best-selling beer in addition to the company was made famous Nutrimalta and the Sifones.
