It’sthetimeofyeartostartthinkingabouttheShowandtoplanyourentries.OurClubShowispartoftheFete(anannualCombsandBattisfordevent)withloadsoffunactivities,stallsanddisplaysofskillanddexterity.ThedayendswithaconcertontheGreen.ThisyeartheFeteisbeingheldontheBattisfordVillageGreen,sodon’tgetlost!TheShow’ssuccessisdependentonourmembersandthelocalresidentswhoenter;sothemoreentriesthemoresuccessfulitwillbe.Comeonlet’shaveatleastoneentryfromeverymember!Wealwaysliketoseeentriesinthejuniorclasses–thechildrendonothavetoliveintheareatheyjusthavetoberelatedtomembersorresidents.OnceagainthisyearweareindebtedtoPaulHansordforfindingplantsforthememberclasses.MemberscanseetheFebruarynewsletterfordetails.ManythankstotheCommitteeandothermemberswhohelppriortoandonthedayoftheShow–itcouldnottakeplacewithoutthem.Trollieswillbeavailabletohelpbringinheavierpotsetc.Pleasenotethesetuptimeof10–11.30.Feteweekendeventsarestillbeingplannedbutkickoffwiththefund-raisingPIGRACEeveningon18thMay([email protected]@googlemail.comfortickets).

2019 Show Rules

Classes (except classes1and41-43)areopen toall residentsofCombs,LittleFinborough, BattisfordandRingshall,andallmembersofBattisfordandDistrictGardening Club, and their families. Only one entry per person perclass.Children’sclassesopenasdetailedpreviously

AllentryformsmustbereceivedbyWednesday3thJuly2019.Entriesareonlyacceptableontheofficialform.Copiesareacceptable(alsoavailableonthewebsitewww.battisfordgardeningclub.org.uk) Pleaseuseseparateentryformsforeachfamilymemberentering.

Theshowwillbeopenforexhibitorstosetupfrom10to11.30amonthedayof theshow.No lateorchangedentrieswillbeacceptedon theday.Entriesmustremainondisplayuntil4pm.Allexhibitsmustberemovedfromthemarqueeby4.30pm.

All meetings start at 7.30 in the Community Centre, Battisford unless otherwise stated Monday 4th March - Matthew Long (Riverside Bulbs) – PART 1 ‘Spring Planting – Bulbs for Summer Colour’ - yes, you can still plant bulbs and they'll be on sale

Monday 1st April - Dr Ian Bedford (John Innes Centre) - ‘Butterfly Gardening’

Monday 13th May - Otley Hall Gardens, Hall Lane, Otley IP6 9PA – All arrive for 7.00pm - National Garden Scheme £7.25 entry plus refreshments

Monday 3rd June - Moat House, Little Saxham, Bury St. Ed. IP29 5LE – All arrive for 6.30pm - another NGS opening £8
