Procedure: 1. Cut the foam board in rectangles of 12cm X 24cm. 2. Paint all pieces black 3. Paint the border of the rectangles white (thin line). Also, a thin line in the middle. 4. Add a thumbtack in the middle of each rectangle ( decorating detail) 5. Use the molds (Handouts) to create different shapes in paper. 6. Paint the shapes with different colors 7. Paste the shapes in the rectangles (2 per rectangle)

Materials: Domino Pencils, glue, scissors, adhesive plastic, thumbtacks, cardboard, markers, foam board, paintbrush, oil paint. Procedure:

1. Cut the foam board in rectangles of 12cm X 24cm. 2. Paint all pieces black 3. Paint the border of the rectangles white (thin line). Also, a thin

8. Add plastic to all domino pieces 9. Create cards of the shapes you will study (See handouts for

molds). Use card board of different colors. 10. Add the name of the shape to each card ( in English only) 11. Delineate the border of each card with a black marker 12. Add plastic to your cards.

Giant Domino

Instructions

1. Take the 8 cards and show them to the children one by one. Say the name of the shape out loud so they can repeat after you and associate the figure with its name.

2. As the children are between 2-4years old, sit them all together to start playing with the giant

domino.

3. Put all domino pieces together so they can be visible to all your children.

4. Give the instruction to look for the piece that has two stars of the same color (that’s the start game piece)

5. After that ask the children to look for another piece that matches the shape of the first block and put it next to that one. ( ask the children to say the name of the shape he is adding in English)

6. Again, look for another child and ask him/her to look for the shape that follows. She/He should say the name of the figure out loud.

7. In case one of the children makes a mistake send another child to help him/her find the right piece.

8. Give each child a drawing that contains different shapes. Ask them to paint all squares of one

color, all triangles of a different color, all stars using another color… continue with all figures in

the picture. ( You will evaluate if they recognize the shapes)
