Who is a native and a non-native? Is it important to develop English proficiency to the level
“like a native”? What is the phrase “like a native” mean? Does the status of the native and non-native more
important that proficiency of the teacher who teaches EFL/ESL?
What is standard English? What is non-standard English? How do we understand the varieties of English? Does migration, neo-imperialism, cross-cultural interaction,
and amalgamation influence the use of English? Is it important to include cross-cultural, multicultural, and
intercultural understanding in teaching English?
