Intellectual property can be characterized as the property in idea or their expression .

E.g.: a technological innovation, poem or design.

It protect the right of individual or businesses who have transformed their idea into property y granting right to owner those property

This right can be used either through their own business or by charging license fee

Trade marks Trade mark means any “symbol, logo or name” are

used to enable the public to identify the supplier of good

Trade can be registered, which give the holder the exclusive right to use them

Trade secrets Trade secrets also like patent but they rely on privates

measures rather than states action to maintain exclusivity . We shall focus mainly on patent and copy right because these have been at the centre of controversy regarding intellectual property right
