1973-1980 Memar Collaborative Collaborative Architectural and Engineering Firm Kabul, Afghanistan Principal and Architect: In this period, while I had a teaching

assignment in Kabul University, I was also managing the Memar Architectural Firm in Kabul. I was the owner/partner of the firm and my responsibilities included; designing, management and advising the design team, scheduling and project assignments, organizing, developing and maintenance of design programs to provide quality service to the clients.. The firm was established in 1973. Major works included: Vocational schools,160 room hotel, supreme-court building, campus master plan for the University of Jalalabad, Datsun automobile show room and workshop, private apartments, private homes and mixed use commercial and residential buildings.

1972-1974 AEP Collaborative Kabul University Part Time Architect and Research Assistant: Originally employed

by AEP Collaborative to do research and drawings for the book Traditional Architecture of Afghanistan, was promoted to Architect for on-campus projects.

Sustainable, Regenerative Urban Design Proposal for Pullman, WA USA. Project under adaptation.

Mosque in Lubbock, Texas, 34th Street and LaSalle Avenue.

Site area 27250 sq. ft. and building area 3000 sq. ft. Project constructed, 1987.

Private apartment building in Char-Rahi Ansari, Kabul, built

on a site area of 600 m2 and building area of 1280 m2 in four stories. The building includes 16 apartment units and shopping on the street level. Project completed 1978.

Private apartment building in Shri-Naw, Kabul, built on site

area of 400 m2 and building area of 1200 m2 in three stories. The building includes 8 apartment units and shopping on the ground floor level. Project completed 1980.

Private house at Karte-Parwan, Kabul, built on site area of 540

m2 and building area of 130 m2 in two stories. Project completed 1975.

Private house at Wazir-Akbar Khan, Kabul, built on site area of

500 m2 and building area of 110 m2 in two stories. Project completed 1978.

Private house in Khoshal-Mina, Kabul, built on site area of 150

m2 and building area of 144 m2 in two levels. Project completed 1978. Restoration of American Cultural Center, Kabul. Restoration and conversion of existing restaurant and adjacent library space to exhibition hall, a projection room and adding classrooms. Project completed 1976.

Supreme Court Building in Darul-Aman, Kabul. Government

project, designed on site area of 4000 m2 and building area of 800 m2. The project includes two court rooms, offices, meeting and waiting areas. Project not built.

Restoration of the head office of the Asia Foundation in Shari-

Naw, Kabul. Project completed 1975 Datsun Car Workshop and Offices in Darul-Aman, Kabul, on

site area of 2400 m2 and building area of 100 m2. The project

Vocational Agricultural School for the Ministry of Education Kabul. The project is designed for 1000 students and is a prototype to be built in four provinces of Afghanistan, having classrooms, dormitories, laboratories and other related facilities. Project constructed, 1980.

Hotel project in Salang-Watt, Kabul, designed on site of 300 m2

and building area of 2000 m2 in ten stories. The project had 160 bedrooms, restaurant, shopping and market area on the ground and first floor, parking and other related facilities. Project not built.

Office Building for Federal Co-Operative Bank, a subsidiary of

the State Bank of Pakistan at Islamabad, Pakistan. Competition Project, Not Applied

Concept plans for football and hockey stadium and associated

commercial complex for the Agricultural University, Faisalabad, Pakistan, Project not constructed.
