SECTION 6: PUPPET MAKING WORKSHOPS About: Puppetry workshops are a fun and inspiring way to encourage the development of creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills… and we're taking them on tour with us. The School of Puppetry Workshops run for 1.5 hours and can cater for up to 30 students per workshop. We have the ability to run two workshops simultaneously. Workshops Available – all workshops will have an ocean theme this tour

Hand Puppet: This workshop is our most popular! By making their own unique puppet using a range of soft fabric materials, children learn about how character can be constructed through elements of design (colour, shape, texture). Age suitability: 4+

Marionette: Marionette making is a workshop designed to open children’s minds to how they can construct puppets that move on stage! By making their own puppets using string and soft materials, children learn how elements of weight and balance influence puppet movement. This workshop requires some technical ability. Age suitability: 6+. More complex sessions available for 8+

Performing: Acting, story creation, puppet manipulation and play. This workshop introduces children to performance skills through improvisation and storytelling and is a great addition to a puppet making workshop, or enjoy using our professionally made collection of puppets. Age suitability: 7+
