    WHY CHOOSE BARRACUDA GOLD ELECTRODES:

The Barracuda Gold underwater welding electrode has been designed and formulated toproduce the highest quality weld-metal possible, offering excellent ductility, toughness andstrength properties. The electrode, which has added nickel, offers significant improvements

in mechanical/metallurgical properties to standard C/Mn (mild-steel) electrodes. Theelectrodes are manufactured under strict quality control methods and procedures (ISO 9000)to ensure the highest, repeatable quality at all times. For an electrode to produce highquality welds underwater, attention to the waterproofing is of paramount importance toensure moisture is prevented from penetrating the flux coating, while at the same time, allowing the electrode to burn fry without undue interference to the arc, or allowingcontamination to transferred to weld-metal. The Barracuda Gold electrode is guaranteed notto flake, blister even under the harshest of environments and it also offers the maximumelectrical protection for the diver. Electrodes may be submerged up to a 90 minute periodwithout any undue interference or loss of performance, although we always recommend

electrodes should be used within a 30-45 minute period, where possible.

Although no standard/specification exists for underwater welding electrodes, the nearestequivalent may be taken from BSEN ISO 499: 1995 for covered welding electrodes. Thenearest code being E4221NiRR (AWS E7014). Barracuda Gold electrodes exceed thespecification criteria as stated under BSEN ISO 15618-1:2002 and AWS D3.6M-99 forunderwater class B welds.

    PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTIC:

The electrode is designed to be used in allpositions, using touch welding techniques andoffers a friendly, soft, controllable arccharacteristic, making welding very easy forboth experienced and inexperienced divers alike. The electrode also has a graphite tip for easystriking. For more detailed information andadditional technical/operations features, seeseparate data sheet.

(What a difference a good electrode can make in the right hands).

    TECHNICAL SUPPORT:

Customers of Speciality Welds can be assured of access to unlimitedtechnical support from one of the worldsleading experts; including,
