Welcome...Welcome to the Barnstaple Christmas Festival guidewhere you will find details of our packed festiveprogramme. Such is the popularity of the town'sChristmas festivities that our line up of events is evenbigger this year, starting with the Christmas Light Switchon, on The Square on Sunday November 21 with thefantastic Newton Faulkner as the headline act.

As always, we aim to make this an event for all the familyand the day will begin with youngsters taking part in theSpirit of Christmas parade, organised by North DevonMuseum. Along with a traditional fair on The Strand, ahost of musical acts on the main stage, including localprimary schools, the day is going to be filled with fun andfestive spirit.

We would like to thank all the businesses that havesupported our Christmas activities, in particular our mainsponsor, the Co-Operative Group. We would also like tothank all of our other sponsors, who you will seeadvertising in this brochure, and in addition Juice Designand Advertising for their marketing support plus of courseour invaluable volunteers who help with so muchthroughout this period.

This year we have teamed up once again with the NorthDevon Hospice. You can show your support bypurchasing a ticket in their bumper draw and be in with achance to win the first prize of £5,000.

North Devon Gang Show, Sticklepath and Yeo Valley PrimarySchools, local favourites Zamba, and a very special festive spotfeaturing some of the best of North Devon's musical talent will getyou singing along on the day.

With a traditional fun fair for the children on The Strand and streetentertainers, this is a great day out for all the family, culminating inthe Big Switch on of Barnstaple's stunning Christmas lights, whichthis year are bigger and better than ever.
