Where has the summer gone, “great weather” and now fall with its full colours and beautiful Oct. weather in this part

of the world. We hope everyone had good crops, a good calv-ing and growth season as well as good health.

We are proud of our line-up this year with more cattle than ever from more consignors. In particular we are pleased to wel-come the Prospect Hill, Fleck Forum and Quebec portion of the sale. While both Fleck Forum and Prospect Hill have had their own section of the Sale in the past, the Quebec section is a result of the cancellation of the Fall Gagnon Sale where these cattle would normally be consigned. We are especially pleased to welcome everyone from Quebec both sellers and buyers to Extravaganza VII.

This year’s sale consists of a great selection of Bred Heifers, a few Heifer calves and cows and a handpicked selection of Em-bryo Pregnancies. Although we introduced the idea last year we have once more selected a small group of Bull calves from the early crop to offer to our clients, pre-tested for early spring delivery after test or they could be taken home now. Our stan-dard guarantee will apply if left on test, “if they haven’t devel-oped over the winter as expected, money back.”

Ontario Simmental Weekend

Welcome to “Ontario Simmental Weekend” consisting of the Futures’ One Simmental Sale Edition 5 at the Destiny Sales fa-cility on Saturday Oct. 1st, followed by refreshments, dinner, music and fellowship at the Bar 5 Sales pavilion.

With the announcement of Gov’t participation in the CSA ge-nomic testing program, we look forward to the future as DNA technology will show the benefits of the Fleckvieh influenced cattle and usher in the “new world” of EPD’S.

Thanks again to our consignors, sale participants, all the Bar 5 and Sale staff who have worked hard to come up with a great presentation of Fleckvieh cattle to make the weekend enjoy-able for all.

A special thanks to all our visitors and customers for coming, participating and accepting our hospitality.

Ron & Carla

Again this year we are offering the pick of the older bull calves, for those of you who can’t make our Spring Bull sale or for those who want to make sure they have their bull battery ready to go early in the New Year. The buyers have the choice of taking the calf home now or leaving him here in our BIO Test Station until February. The cost is $900 which includes all Test Station fees. The following bulls have been entered in The North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky, November 11, 2011. If the new owner wants us to show them, we will at our expense. The buyer must insure all animals after the sale if we are going to remain in possession until after the show.

Here is an opportunity for any serious breeder, a chance to buy ahead of the stampede to own a polled son of 409M. With 2 of the premier cows in the breed 409M and Gezmi in the pedigree, how can he miss. His EPD’S tell the story with only his birth weight being off side (probably a result of the big old recipient that carried him) but calving ease is average so he should fit into your program without difficulty. His sire CO 413U is an Eksellent bull we sold

to Indian Creek and Dollar Diamond D who is producing some outstanding progeny. Besides having an outstanding pedigree he is showing good length and thickness at this early age. He is part of our show team and we have entered him in the Kentucky NAILE Show. If the buyer wants us to show him, we will at our expense.

Something we have waited for, for a long time. A polled son of Bar 5 Harrach, the show winning and production winning bull owned by Agro Zurita who has sold many outstanding progeny from him for hundreds of thousands of dollars in Brazil. Harrach teamed up with the polled Zegna heifer we purchased from Ferm Gagnon in 2009, who has produced some outstanding progeny for us. That’s the genetics, but look at his makeup, structurally sound,

good top, thick, standing on good legs with good sized hooves as well as having the colour pigmentation and overall eye appeal. His EPD’s don’t hurt him either. He is in the top 10% of the breed for weaning and top 3% for yearling weights with everything else being more than adequate. He is part of our show team and we have entered him in the Kentucky NAILE Show. If the buyer wants us to show him, we will at our expense.

The combination of Miju and Erika spells class and this guy may be no exception. Erika maybe the highest dollar producing Fleckvieh female ever, so you know you are buying reliability. He should really look the part when he comes off test early 2012 with great colour, pigmentation and structural correctness. You will be sure to like him. The other good news is that you can breed him to almost any of the older Fleckvieh genetics, for an outcross calf which will add to your genetic base. He is part of our show team

and we have entered him in the Kentucky NAILE Show. If the buyer wants us to show him, we will at our expense.

O.K. I guess Erika just keeps producing the best. Here we go again one of our little used sires of the past Isar and the reliable one teamed up to produce an outstanding individual that we thought would complete the Erika package being offered. The EPD’s are pretty sketchy because there is information from only one side of the pedigree, but just look at the individual, picture him coming off test early 2012 and just imagine how happy your heifers will be when you bring him home.

Here is the combination that has never failed yet. A polled son of Global and Erika. We have sold some tremendous offspring from this combination to some of the leading breeders who have been very pleased with the results. Now we are offering a polled son who has it all, structurally sound, good deep red colour pigmentation on eyes, lips and scrotum to go with this genetic winning combination. Although not 100% Fleckvieh the influence of many generations is still there and not hard to see.

Toshiba is an exceptional heifer sired by Bar 5 Eltorro 814S, a bull we sold to Carol Aymond, Louisiana, but kept the semen rights. The Dam is out of a Three Sixes daughter. So we have that Bar 5 X Buzzard Hollow combination that seems to work so well. She has a beautiful profile, good pigmentation of the eyes, lips and udder. We expect good things from this

young lady who would be a real contributor in the future to any herd. To top it all off, she is polled with a good set of EPD’S. She is part of our show team and we have entered her in the Kentucky NAILE Show. If the buyer wants us to show her, we will at our expense.

Another one of those good Evolution calves out of the Zena cow we purchased from Ferme Gagnon a few years ago. Every calf from her has been outstanding. In fact we put the Dam into our flush program this year. This calf has the profile, colouring, and pigmentation that is so popular. When we were in Columbia this summer the breeders wanted to know whether we had pigmented lips because of the sun they have, so checking more carefully

sure enough many of them do and certainly this one does. Smaller framed, thick and good describes this female. A check of her EPD’s show a really good balanced set of numbers. She is part of our show team and we have entered her in the Kentucky NAILE Show. If the buyer wants us to show her, we will at our expense.

A sale with as large an offering of breds as this one needs some breaks, so we are offering a handful of heifer calves. A selection from our oldest group of this year’s heifer calves, that are showing a lot of promise.

The following heifers have been entered in The North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky, November 11, 2011. If the new owner wants us to show them, we will at our expense. The buyer must insure all animals after the sale if we are going to remain in possession until after the show.

Another polled Eltorro daughter out of the good Sanmar cow we purchased at the Extravaganza Sale two years ago. Her last year’s bull calf topped our sale in the spring. Going to Hallridge Simmentals and Buschbeck Farms, both of whom know something about our herd. You will also find that we used this bull, Bar 5 Luke on a lot of last year’s heifers. Her easy calving numbers and lovely profile should make her a favourite.

9303X is one of the most correct heifers. Deep, long, with a tremendous strong back and a nice wide base. Smooth shouldered with good udder development. Her Sire “Bar 5 Glover” is leaving exceptional heifers like this one, little extra age and great disposition. Let her find you on Sale Day. CONSIGNED BY BUSCHBECK FARMS, MARKDALE, ON

One of the first Gravity daughters that we have sold, great profile, solid red with good pigmentation, including lips. The Delta-Rho cow is another one that keeps producing those good sons and daughters for us. All she needs is a good home where she can produce money making calves well into the future for some lucky breeder.

One of those rare calves, horned out of a pair of polled parents, but don’t let that distract you from a very nice put together heifer. Polled, horned or not, her sire is an exceptional individual and certainly RPF U28 was the pick of the Phillips herd that year. A chance to pick up a great looking calf that you would be paying a lot more for if it would have ended up homozygous polled. Everything else is right about this heifer, including the line breeding from Bar 5 Expert that has proven himself all over the world.

This is one of the last opportunities to pick up a daughter out of Erika. She is one of the most prolific females ever in the Simmental breed. We have stopped flushing Erika in South Africa, so there won’t be many more. Kykso Miju on the top side doesn’t hurt either. Full outcross to almost all Full Flecks, this will be an interesting entry into most elite herds. Besides, she is well put together, coloured with a great overall look to her. She is part of our show team and we have entered her in the Kentucky NAILE Show. If the buyer wants us to show her, we will at our expense.

Here is another one of those Gravity calves out of a good Anchor “T” Legend cow we bought from Ferme LaBlanc a couple years ago. Not only an interesting pedigree but she is developing into what should be a very productive female. Small framed, thick, solid coloured, with good pigmentation and adequate performance EPD’S that should make this a good buy for someone.

Cherie should be on your tick list in the catalogue. Sired by the great Bar 5 Optimal bull with the Dam side 801M being one of the great cows ever sold by Bar 5 and now one of the favourite cows of Agro Zurita housed at Bar 5. Great profile, solid colouring, feminine looking, and good pigmentation. She comes complete with a very balanced set of EPD’S, loaded with performance and carcass values for the discriminating buyer.

Great Polled heifer out of a heifer bull we used that left us good footed, and nice udder females. Super disposition and nice pigmentation. Fertility second to none. This late March female bred to calve mid January to the easy calving Empire bull. Her EPD’s tell the story and say something about her two year old dam. Give her a look on Sale Day.

CONSIGNED BY BUSCHBECK FARMS, MARKDALE, ON

Here is an interesting opportunity to acquire a unique pedigree with Haxold on top and the J E Booker female on the bottom side. It won’t be duplicated anytime soon. If you don’t mind the fact that the calf could be born between Xmas and New Years, it might be a real opportunity to have an early January calf that could get you started. Bred to Bar 5 Harrach is another opportunity to have a calf out of the great award winning Bull. This should be a popular choice, a heifer with a little more age and bred early.

We have said it all about Erika, so all you have to do is evaluate the heifer. Sired by Braam is good, solid coloured, well pigmented. Good BIO numbers, well balanced EPD’S, feminine looking, with a good structure. Oh yes she’s bred to Evolution for an early calf which should produce a very valuable off spring. Checked safe to Evolution.

AI to BAR 5 P SA EVOLUTION 418S, 657323 March 16, Pasture exposed to BAR 5 PFF LUKE 1215X, 732732, April 25 – July 25

If you prefer a smaller frame with lots of thickness and spring of rib, then this is one you should look at. Her pedigree is a nice combination of Bar 5 Evolution and Bar 5 Mystery who is sired by Eksellent out of the Misty cow that we owned for a very short time in South Africa. A low birth weight and a good spread of EPD’S adds to her attractiveness. Checked safe in calf with no decision made between the March 16 breeding and an early breeding to the pasture exposure. All our animals are DNA’d therefore, it will be easy to determine the breeding. AI to BAR 5 PSA ESSENTIAL 413U, 695610, March 16, Pasture exposed to BAR 5 PFF LUKE 1215X, 732732, April 25 – July 25

One of those good moderate framed heifers with a nice profile, including great depth of body and spring of rib. Nicely coloured individual, good pigmentation and attitude. A full South African sired by Bosluis, a bull we have had a lot of success from with the dam being one of our old standbys Ru-Dev Julia who has produced many outstanding individuals. An overall good set of EPD’s and bred to our easy calving bull Pfidelity for an early calf should be a benefit. Checked safe to Pfidelity.AI to BAR 5 SA PFIDELITY 424R, 638044 March 16, Pasture exposed to BAR 5 SA OPEL 302W, 726234, April 25 – July 25

A full South African heifer with a moderate frame, a weaning index of 102, with a good overall profile, a nice developing udder and a low birth weight. Her EPD’S show average calving ease and birth weight in the top 4% for milk and good average carcass values. She has a nice balanced pedigree out of our calving ease bull Pfidelity and out of a good producing cow with Kermet on the top side. A good larger framed heifer with lots of depth and spring of rib, full South African with loads of performance as you can see by the EPD’S. Top 25% in weaning weight and top 3% in yearling weight, top 4% in Maternal weaning weight and top 5% in milk production. This actually shows up in a weaning index of 110 and a much better than average yearling weight. Rib eye in the top 25% is about where you want to be as well. This heifer has been a standout since birth. Razzmatazz has been a favorite of Dee’s and this one is no different. AI to Richmond Regis on March 13, 2011 and safe to that date. Paige has produced top breeding stock every year and Ila is no exception. She’s built like heifers should be; thick and easy fleshing. Razzmatazz is a new twist for Paige and by the look of Ila this won’t be her last.

This heifer is hard to part with. Gagnon’s Battlestar crossed with Anchor D Tina, take a look at the pedigree. With a double shot of Legend things are looking high for this heifer. AI to Sir Arnolds Image on April 24, 2011 and safe to the date. In the vets opinion she is carrying a heifer for that extra bonus.

Here is a young cow that’s hard to let go but we decided to put in a small selection of cows in the sale, so we have to put in the best. A polled full sister to Eltorro that we certainly intended to keep. Sired by Expert the world famous polled bull out of the Ru-Dev Caramia cow that we had only a few embryos from but whose progeny were excellent.A chance for a homozygous calf is awaiting the buyer, but you might have to be alert by

Christmas.

One of those high selling females of the past sold to Agro Zurita. She has been very productive and has flushed very well. Bred now but will be ready of flush next summer while she raises what could be your next star of the herd. Again we don’t have to talk about Erika we all know what she has done and sired by Braam just sealed the deal. Her EPD’S do not reflect much because most of her progeny ended up in Brazil and not performance tested here. Checked safe in calf.

A young cow in the prime of her life, sired by Bar 5 Kermet out of an Erika full sister so she should be good. Take a look at 216X Lot 25 last year’s calf out of this cow to see what she can do. An added advantage is no matter which way it’s determined she’s bred it should add to the overall value to the calf she’s having this year. It would be nice to have a Stimulation calf because we have not used him as much as we should have, although we all like him a lot. Checked safe in calf. An opportunity to own a daughter of the world famous Bar 5 Expert with a great track record behind her and a great future ahead. As we did last year, we are offering pregnancies from some proven combinations. Most of these pregnancies have siblings in many parts of the world and are the leading genetics in a number of ELITE herds. This is your chance to get in early on a winning combination. It might take a little longer to experience the results but it’s more fun. Take a good look at the Recips, they are valuable in their own right.

This is an interesting combination. I’m sure everyone knows Bosluis by now and we have had some outstanding calves from Misty.Including last year’s high seller to Starwest Farms.

HILL

Prospect Hill Simmentals was founded in 1988. Our objective is to provide selective seed stock animals for the industry, while we continue to build on our strong foundation. This year we are continuing to sell our great cattle at two separate sales, two days in a row. We are excited to offer a great selection of nine bred heifers from PHS at this sale, with something to enhance everyone’s program.

I would like to thank Ron Nolan and the Bar 5 crew for inviting us to be part of the Extravaganza Sale again this year. I would also like to thank my family and

the PHS family of John Cartwright and Robin Bryan. I couldn’t ask for a better extended family anywhere.

All bred sales animals have been preg checked and confirmed to their breed-ing date. These animals are fully vaccinated and ready to go.

I know that she takes us to that state, and once you see this heifer you will be hooked. She is bred to Kaunlo a bull we purchased this spring from Rick Batty. He is know for his pigmentation and low birth weights. Her dam is a cow that we purchased from Ron Wooddisse, a breeder that we all miss. Due February 28, 2012. Pasture bred to WLSF Kaunlo, 667043

Polled X-ecute is going to have some friends on sale day. Eclipse, her Sire, has done a great job for Ross Small. His dam Dora Lee Elexis now walks the pastures of Anchor D Ranch Simmentals. A flush on Elexis last year sold for over $12,000. X-ecute’s dam was a high seller that we bought from Cedar Creek a few years ago at the Futures Sale. Look this heifer over, we believe that you will not be disappointed. She is bred to the homo polled bull Steinadler so X-ecute your purchase wisely and take her home.Due January 5, 2012. AI bred to Steinadler, 689251

Polled & X-plosive could not be packed with anymore power even if you tried. Her sire is Gibby’s TNT and her Dam’s sire is Bar 5 Stride. Both are packed with lots of power. John says that there is even more bang for your buck in this package, as it goes back to a very strong cow family at Rolling Acres, his old family farm.

PHS Polled X-oticia is a great genetic cross. Her sire is Holberg, from the “H” polled line, not the traditional “E” line. Holberg is know for his moderate frame and carcass traits. Crossed with this heifer’s dam, who is a Three Sixes by Dorothy Jane, you get red meat and power. X-oticia is just that.... rare and beautiful.

Due January 22, 2012. AI bred to Champs Bravo, P701002

X-hibit is a calf from a cow we purchased at Hiemstra’s Dispersal sale a few years ago. We bought the dam because of her rare pedigree. X-hibit is a really good heifer – and hard to let go of. If it does not hurt then you are not digging deep enough. With names like Klyber, IKON, Heller, and Overhall Hivy in her pedigree, she is the horned package. Being bred to homo polled Gibby’s TNT guarantees that you will have a polled calf.

Polled X-press is a Wyvern Magnificent daughter out of our elite homozygous donour “Belle”. Magnificent is a bull that was a favorite among visitors and ourselves at the 2006 World Congress in Calgary. We decided to flush Belle that way and it was not long after that we sold ten of those embryos to a breeder in Ireland. A heifer from that flush was 3rd in class going for the Irish Championships. Polled X-press is a good heifer to have in your herd when visitors from around the world come to visit your farm. We bred her to Bravo to give you that extra muscle, moderate frame and calving ease. X-press your interest on sale day and raise your hand.

Due January 6, 2012. AI bred to Champs Bravo, P701002.

Polled X-travagance will lure you with her colour, hook you with her pedigree, and reel you in with her shape. Being the youngest heifer that we are selling, it is amazing how much muscle and shape she has. I can only imagine what she will look like in a few years. Polled X-travagance is sired by Bravo and her dam is JNR’s Red Queen, both of which were high sellers. Bred to Kaunlo for calving ease and pigmentation. This should be an interesting combination.

Welcome to our 17th Annual Fleckvieh Forum Sale It is a privilege for me, on behalf of our Forum group, to welcome you to our “17th Annual Fleckvieh Forum sale”, held again this year at the Bar 5 facility October 2nd. We very much appreciate the tremendous support and enthusiasm for our genetics over the years from Cattlemen all across Canada and the United States.

Here in Ontario, it has been a very hot and dry summer. However, our Fleckviehs have what it takes to handle the extreme heat, dried up pastures and turn these trying times into meat and milk, and bring home those 700 to 800 lb calves again this fall.

We wish to commend our Canadian Simmental Association for their recent investment in Genomics research. For the past 3 years, from within our Forum group, we have Genomics profiles on upwards of 150 of our Fleckvieh animals using Igenity, a company whose Genomic research and work has been approved by the National Beef Cattle Evaluation Consortium (NBCEC). We are using this new technology as one of many selection tools as we travel down this road to breeding phenotypically correct, feed efficient, fast gaining animals with an eye on traits like maternal mothering, temperament, marbling, rib eye, yield etc. Several of our consignments to our Forum sale will have Genomic information available sale day.

We are very excited about this year’s sale. The quality as in the past is high - hard to part females that perhaps should have been retained, will be in the ring sale day. If you can find a way to join us sale day, it would be our pleasure. If for some reason you are unable to attend, Brian Valentine [509 760 3046], Dan Skeels [403 783 1217] or any of our Forum group would be happy to assist you in any way we can. Cassandra has turned a lot of heads since the day she was born. On the bottom side of her pedigree, foundation genetics like King Arthur, SRN MS Western, Dora Lee Charm and Neff are all there and on the top side she has the legendary US bull Hackenberg, Dora Lee Jake, and Dora Lee Elexis (now working at Anchor D). Her dam Dora Lee Claudia is also making her mark with a daughter working at Double Bar D where her first 2 bull calves topped $20,000. We feel Cassandra has it all, quiet temperament, femininity, performance, style, a stacked pedigree, bred to the legendary calving ease bull Sir Arnold’s Image and backed by 38 years of breeding Simmental here at Dora Lee.

Bred to ABR SIR ARNOLDS IMAGE 140262, March 3rd , no exposure

CONSIGNED BY DORALEE GENETICS, HARRISTON, ON

Chantel will have a long and productive life ahead of her if she follows in her mother’s foot steps. Her Mom, Cynthia, is still going strong at 15 years, had another heifer calf this year and is bred back for next year. Chantel also has legendary genetics in her pedigree, names like SH Romulus, Siegfried, Great Guns Rachel 29x and L.J.B. Jade on the dam side, then our Equinox bull has dealt with the horns and added some outcross time proven genetics from the U.S. If you are looking for a quality female to add to your herd, we believe these older proven genetics are just about as good as it gets. Buy her with confidence - we believe Chantel will get it done for many years to come.

We purchased Evelyn’s mother “Emilia” at the 2007 FSFF sale at Bar 5 as a 7 month old heifer calf planning to add outcross polled genetics to our herd. Well some times you just get plain lucky, Emilia has been developed here and has become an impressive addition to our herd. She is nursing twin heifer calves this year and we believe this mating to Equinox is an exceptional cross as you will see when she steps into the sale ring October 2nd. Equinox has added muscling and made sure she will be polled and yes, his quiet temperament has been passed on to his daughter.

We imported Annabelle’s dam “Anna” back in 1997 to bring some older proven genetics into our herd from the U.S. Anna must think that age is just a number, still going strong at 14 and bred back again for next year. Annabelle’s neck extension and femininity will allow her to go out and produce the right kind. There is a blend of U.S. and Canadian genetics in her make up. Siegfried, Arnold’s 807G, Iglhoff and Sabat on the bottom side of her pedigree with Antonius, Appollo, Jake and Eclipse on her top side. We have 3 siblings to Annabelle working in our herd including a full sister. We are predicting a long and productive life for Annabelle.

Francetta is out of a first calf Eclipse daughter and she gets her polled genetics from her mom. We have been using Revelation for several reasons like his calving ease, performance, pedigree being a direct son of our Dora Lee Franchesca cow is also a big plus for us. On her dam side, proven genetics like King Arthur, Arni 8M and the import cow MFL Freya gives Francetta an exciting pedigree or should I say a complete package. Bred early to Sir Arnold’s Image to add some additional older genetics to the mix, you can most likely count on an unassisted calf who will arrive mid December.

Julia is a feminine young lady and bred to Pharao, a polled bull who is a direct son of Arnold’s Image and has proven to us to have calving ease suitable for first calf heifers. We believe that Julia has the power to be bred back polled for the possibility of homozygous polled offspring. When we go back over Julia’s extended pedigree, there are no less than 3 crosses of the legendary King Arthur bull. We are of the opinion that King Arthur is the best Fleckvieh bull ever to set foot in North America. As the saying goes, too much King Arthur in a pedigree is like saying you have too much money in the bank. Julia is a pleasure to work with and will make a great addition to any herd.

Lady Ashley is just a March heifer, but she is right there with her older siblings. She is sired by our Eclipse bull who has certainly made his mark here and abroad. Lady Ashley has many, time proven bulls in her pedigree including Solway Adonis, Canadian Neff and King Arthur and on the female side Dora Lee Fraline and SRN Ms Western 2Y. Lady Ashley is polled and we believe these polled heifers are right there with any horned animals out there. Bred to produce, we believe she will go on to have a long and productive life, producing top end males or females. She is bred to the Arnold’s Image bull for ease of calving. Here is a great opportunity for a polled calf.

3 groups of 10 straws to be sold, EU QUALIFIED

It is with a great deal of pride that we offer semen from our homozygous polled bull “Equinox” to our beef industry. We started travelling down the road of developing polled genetics back in 1999, and the winding trail has led us to our herd sire “Equinox”. First off, we sent semen to Applecross and Bar None in Alberta to assist us in our evaluation of this promising young sire. Applecross Ensign was the first offspring to sell by auction. At the Red Deer bull sale in March, he topped the fullblood section of the sale selling to the Langer family of Edson for $8000.00.Our confidence in Equinoxis is based on 5 generations of Dora Lee breeding, 42 offspring born here in the last 2 years and a similar number in Alberta with virtually no calving

problems. Some of the traits we believe Equinox will bring to your herd are outcross 100% polled offspring, eye pigmentation, materal calving ease, musculing. He also has the quietest disposition of any bull we’ve had on the place and it shows up in his offspring. Equinox has been 11 years in the making and we believe has much to contribute to our beef industry. We are offering 30 doses of semen, buyer can purchase 10, 20, or all 30 if they wish. Semen is stored at Gencor and is EU qualified, eligible for export to most countries in the world.

CONSIGNED BY DORALEE GENETICS, HARRISTON, ON

Eclipse continues to impress more and more each year as his 5th calf crop has arrived. It is very rewarding for us as the positive comments are continuing to come in all the way from Arkansas to Sweden to Alberta and from many of our customers here in Ontario. Here are some of the traits we feel Eclipse will add to your herd, Outcross polled genetics, non diluter, calving ease, maternal calving ease, awesome disposition, performance, pigmentation and fertility.Eclipse was 9 years in the making and certainly worth the time and effort we spent in development.

There is no doubt in our mind that Eclipse is among the elite sires available, be it horned or polled in our Simmental breed today. Eclipse semen is in limited supply.

She is bred for calving ease to the polled Dora Lee Eclipse. All the heifers come to the Fleckvieh Forum Sale Ivomeced, vaccinated with modified live vaccine, with magnets to prevent hardware disease and from a Johnes-free cow herd.

It’s always a great idea to get some Irene influence in your gene pool. This is true maternal power that won’t let you down. Sired by the well-known BHR bull DRACO, Ivanoa is destined to do great things for you. Smile, she’s got Express in her belly.

Our wishes came through; we bought STELLA 501U from Gagnon’s program hoping for a polled Legend daughter that we could build upon. But instead of keeping her, we bred her to the homozygous polled bull Hugo, giving you the chance to come back next year with a homozygous polled calf with a tremendous pedigree and make a lot of $$$. Keep an eye on this one, she will go fast.

Gallion is one of my favourite SA cow, she’s a deep, wide, docile working cow. Her first calf, Gimzy 33w, was the strongest, heaviest heifer in the pen even against our strong mature cows’ calves…very impressive. This attractive polled exodus daughter is bred to our new exciting bull, APPRENTICE. By the way thanks to Brian Bouchard and his excellent services in helping us find and selecting this amazing individual.

We always loved Reece, a cow we bought at Porter’s dispersal out of the Anchor D program. She will always impress you with a strong, consistent and functional calf each and every year. Rihanna 49X is a great predictable choice. Bred to Express.

Now here is your chance to dive right in the middle of what we got best: the Zaïla family. We kept all the females from this line and the reason is simple; they are just too good to sell. So why offer this one? Also simple, we raised her full brother to be our next herd bull. RLS P FF EXPRESS, this polled, dark cherry red, wide, thick, picture perfect young bull topped the St-Martin test station and he bred our best cows this spring. On top of that, she’s bred to our other new bull, VIRGINIA APPRENTICE 140X, a son of CHAMPS ROMANO. It’s going to take us at least three years to come up with that mixt again. Superior cow family on top of superior cow family, there is no surprise there you can bid with confidence.

Marina always gifted us with a super calf every year: the high selling bull at St-Martin test station two years ago, this nice dark SA heifer on offer today and this year she has another leading baby in the heifer pen. As for Houdini, he gave us a nice set of daughters that we build our herd around. No worries here MAYA 50X is going to make a proud new owner.

-Klara has a moderate frame, she is very deep and thick, she represents exactly the type of cattle we need for the future with higher and higher grain price.- The only bad thing we can said on Klara is that she calves a little bit late, but it’s not her fault. Because our heifer bull had fertility problems, we had to use our herdsire to finish the job in the heifer pen. Her mom calves early year after year. -Virginia Walker 97W is a son of Romano, he was the high seller for the fullblood at the Lucky Sale 2010. Walker is very easy calving, his calves show moderate frame, good pigmentation and a lot of muscles.-Klara was the pick of Scott Bohrson last summer in our heifer pen.

- Finke is a daughter of Sibelle Oggy, a bull we co-own with BMS Farm. He is a son of Freightliner. Oggy has a lot of muscles and he put it all on his progeny.-Finke has enough power to be used with any polled Fleckvieh bull.-Longevity is a very important economic factor for a cow-calf operation, Finke’s dam is 10 years old and her sire is 7 years old and they are still in very good shape, so Finke should be in your herd for many years.-Finke est une fille de Sibelle Oggy, un taureau que nous avons en copropriété avec Ferme BMS.

-One word can describe Fanny: power.-Fanny is definitely the deepest body heifer in our pen.-Her maternal sister out of Wrangler (full brother to Bradock) was bought by Well’s Crossing last year at the Gagnon sale for $4,700.-She represents exactly the type of cattle that Bradock can produce.

Mystique represents exactly the type of cattle we need for today’s market, with her muscle, depth and moderate frame. She will make an easy-keeping cow who can produce a very good calf every year. This year, her full brother is the best bull calf in our pen.

Saillie à/Bred to CHAMPS BRAVO, P701002, April 7, 2011

Nathaniel is one of my favourite bred heifers since birth. She is a good mix of nice conformation and very strong pedigree. Her dam produces a calf each year and she is now 13 years old, so Nathaniel will be in your herd for long time.
