A recently renovated centre that boasts sweeping views of the countryside, George Forbes House is our home in the country. Set amongst stunning scenic bushland, you will experience natural beauty, every day.

Located in the popular suburb of Queanbeyan on the outskirts of the ACT, you will enjoy peaceful, spacious grounds, and quaint courtyards where you can relax with friends and family.

The country comfort continues inside for our 85 rooms with plenty of natural light, ample storage space, built in wardrobes and ensuites included. Of these rooms, two secure wings are dedicated to top-quality dementia care. Our highly skilled staff members never underestimate the power of individual care – it’s what we’re here for.

That’s why life at George Forbes House has never worked around an itinerary; it works around you. You’re invited to enjoy the convenience of an on-site hairdresser, library, podiatrist, physiotherapist, and regular trips and church services.

Or you may prefer to relax and take in the beauty and peace of the grounds and visit our interesting bird aviary. Whatever you choose, this country home is your special place to enjoy.

Your Pastoral CareAs a Christian, not-for-profit organisation, BaptistCare is here to respect and care for you. That’s why we offer a chaplaincy service that you can use, if you wish to. Our chaplains are here to support you through life’s challenges and experiences, wherever you may be on your spiritual journey. They’ll spend time getting to know you, discussing what matters to you and providing prayer and other pastoral support if you would like it.

We Like A Clean HomeOur place is your place and we take pride in ensuring it is clean and tidy. As part of our service, we shall keep your room and the rest of the facility and grounds clean so that they are welcoming spaces for you, your friends and family.

With Delicious MealsAt George Forbes House you will enjoy tasty and nutritious meals prepared by our experienced, on-site chef, as well as daily refreshments. We will also make sure that any needs you have with your diet, whether that may be for medical, religious or cultural reasons, are well catered for. We generally serve meals in our dining room, however we are certainly happy to deliver meals to your room if health reasons require it.

And Don’t Worry About The LaundryAt BaptistCare you will enjoy having freshly laundered clothes as part of our service for you. We may also be able to organise for your clothing to be sent to a dry cleaner* or make arrangements with your family to take away clothes to launder if that is your preference.

*Manager can advise on availability of local dry cleaning services.
