IS GOD ON THE THRONE IN YOUR LIFE? “LORD, REIGN IN ME”

BAPTIST HYMNAL - #525

“Over all the earth You reign on high; ev’ry mountain stream, ev’ry sunset sky. But my one request, Lord, my only aim

is that You reign in me again.

Lord, reign in me, reign in Your pow’r; over all my dreams, in my darkest hour.

You are the Lord of all I am, so won’t You reign in me again?

Over ev’ry thought, over ev’ry word,

may my life reflect the beauty of my Lord; cause You mean more to me

than any earthly thing, so won’t You reign in Me again?”

Sometimes people pray for RAIN while others pray that it will

not RAIN! Some people do not mind getting wet while others want to stay completely dry! That scenario is also played out spiritually day after day! I wonder sometimes how many of God’s children are sincerely praying for Him to REIGN on, in, over, and through

them for His glory? To be sure, there is a one time commitment we must make to confess our sins and trust Him to save us for all

eternity. However, we must also make a daily commitment to fol-low Him wherever He leads and do whatever He says. The Lord wants to REIGN on, in, over, and through every believer every

2 Pet. 1:20-21 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

Deacon Elections - Next Sunday morning, we will select 7 men from the list of eligible men below to serve as Administrative Deacons for the next 3 years. Our Constitution states that each deacon should “possess the spiritual qualifications set forth in Acts 6:3 and 1 Timothy 3:8-12, and be active in, and in support of, the full program of the church.” This means that each deacon is expected to attend Sunday School, Sunday morning worship, Sunday evening worship, and be involved in one of our Wednesday evening activities (Bible Study, Choir, or leadership in our Children/Youth programs). Last year, our Deacon body re-affirmed to one another that unless they are out of town, they expect one another to attend these services of our church family (and to encourage their family and the rest of our church family to attend them).

In regard to the Scriptural commitments, each man should have a servant's heart, a good reputation in the community, be a man of honesty, refrain from drunkenness, avoid any "stumbling block" behaviors that could lead others astray, be a good steward of the finances God has blessed him with, have a good understanding of the Word of God, lead their families to know and obey God, and seek to be a unifying agent for the rest of the church family.

Each eligible man needs to examine these commitments and make sure that they are willing to live them out if elected by the church. Please be in prayer for each of these men and for our elections as we determine who God has chosen to fulfill this important role for our church family:

How to Join Our Church Family

We would love to talk to you about salvation & membership. To discuss this with our pastor, you may choose any of these options:

1. During the concluding hymn of the morning worship service, walk to the front of the Worship Center to speak with Pastor Brian. 2. After the morning worship service, Pastor Brian will be at the front of the Sanctuary (near the piano) to talk with you & answer any questions. 3. At any time, you may email Pastor Brian at [email protected] or text or call him at 601-616-9641 to schedule a time to talk.
