BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Registration for our spring rec league will take Place on Monday 1/21 and Wed 1/23 from 7-8 pm in the gym. This league is open to currently registered St. Aedan's Parishioners in grades 3-8. We hope To start the league the weekend on 2/23-24. Games will be played on weekends and also some Weeknight games. Grades may be combined depending onthe number of registrants. Thank you for celebrating this most joyous feast by keeping your Christmas decorations up both inside and outside the house. Each year, as Catholic-Christians, we need to witness to our neighbors that we celebrate the religious season of Christmas and don’t pack our things up (like many of the stores) as soon as the commercial shopping season ends. This Sunday, January 13th, the Christmas Season of the Church will officially end with our celebration of the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. THE RACHEL MINISTRY Every 20 seconds an unborn child is aborted in the United States. In the 30 years since Roe vs. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion on demand, the death toll has reached over 55 million. But the statistics do not document the other casualties: the mothers, fathers, grandparents and friends who are emotionally and spiritually affected. The Rachel ministry is a CONFIDENTIAL ministry for those scarred by abortion, miscarriage or stillbirth. (based on the World Marriage Day Initiative) The search begins for the Longest Married Couple in

the Archdiocese of New York! To enter: Couples must have achieved at least 65 years of sacramental marriage and reside in the Archdiocese of NY. The longest married couples will receive commemorative certificates signed by His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan. The winning couple will be interviewed and featured in an article in Catholic New York. Winners are determined by how long the couple has been married as of World Marriage Day, February 10, 2019. THE BEEREAVEMENT MINISTRY St. Ann's Church Nyack, New York

St. Paul-St. Ann's parish in Nyack holds a Bereavement Support Group throughout the year on the First Friday of the month from 10:00- 11:30A.M. at 16 Jefferson Street (the school directly across the street from the church.) All those who have lost a loved one, whether it is a spouse, child, friend or other family member are welcomed to this gentle, understanding and learn to live again. We help each other through the darkness of mourning and learn to live again. Mass, benediction and rosary are available before the 12:10 P.M. mass in the Church. The support group serves men and women of all faiths and is a source of referral from Calvary Hospital, Hospice, as well as Social Services' Administrators. All are welcome! A Shrine to the Unborn is installed

in St. Anthony’s Shrine Church. The centerpiece of the shrine is an image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. A Book of Life is enshrined there. Those who have suffered the loss of an unborn child, through stillbirth, miscarriage or abortion, or of a child who lived for just a short time, may have his or her name inscribed in the Book. If you wish to have an unborn child included; applications are available at St. Anthony’s Church office 623-2138 between 8 :30am & 3:30pm.
