Warm Greetings for a Happy and Prosperous 2020 to you all, from Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Limited (BAPL)!

The quarter that ended and the New Year that began, has been quite eventful for us. We have welcomed 12 new clients to the Aerotropolis family, belonging to Institutional, Residential and Industrial Categories. Worth mentioning here, that 2 of our clients belong to the Medium and Small Enterprise (MSME) segment, one of the focus sectors for our project and one that we truly believe holds the key to the success, not only of the project but also of the region.

BAPL is also grateful to the Government of West Bengal for being invited to attend the Bengal Business Conclave, which was held in Digha on 11 and 12 December, 2020. We were one of the featured projects of the Conclave, where the Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airports International, Mr Eugene Gan, one of the Directors on the Board of BAPL shared the latest updates about the project and the new opportunities for companies to invest and be a part of this marquee infrastructure project of Bengal. Developments are not only limited to the Industrial, Institutional and Residential Zones of the Project. BAPL is extremely excited to announce the launch of a Neighbourhood Retail Project, Areroplaza, which is proposed to be a 26000 Sq. Ft. (Ground + 2 Floors) project, on the National Highway with excellent visibility.

On the Aviation front, Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport will soon welcome one more flight from Spicejet from the end of March 2020. This new flight will connect Durgapur to New Delhi, non-stop, daily. Passengers flying from South Bengal to New Delhi will now have the option of choosing between Air India and Spicejet, for their travel to New Delhi giving them more options and as a result, better and lower fares to choose from.We are sure, that by the time you receive the next Issue of this Quarterly Newsletter, we will have more interesting updates to share with all of you.

Updates from the Ground

SpiceJet to launch daily direct flights to DelhiBudget carrier Spicejet has evinced interest to commence daily flight services connecting Durgapur with the national capital, starting from 29 March 2020 tentatively. Spicejet’s New Delhi to Durgapur flight, is expected to have a seating capacity of 122 seats.

At present Air India operates flight services from Durgapur to New Delhi and Durgapur to Hyderabad four days a week. Under the Ude Desh Ki Aam Nagarik Scheme (UDAN), Spicejet has also started Durgapur to Mumbai and Durgapur to Chennai daily flight services.
