BANNER 7 Computer Based Training (CBT)

Introduction The purpose of this document is to provide instruction for downloading and

unzipping the Banner 7 CBT from InsidePacific.

IMPORTANT • These instructions begin after logging in to InsidePacific.

• The unzip section of instructions are based on using the Unzip program that is included with Windows XP, not WinZip.

• It’s helpful to create the folder/directory to download the CBT before you begin.

Downloading the CBT

The table below provides detailed instruction for downloading and installing the BANNER 7 CBT.

Step Action 1. Click: Administrative tab at top of page 2. Click: Download the Banner Fundamentals CBT

3. The file download dialogue box displays:

4. Click: Save button and the ‘Save As’ dialogue box displays:

5. Click: drop down arrow and select appropriate drive and folder to save the file. The dialogue box will download file and indicate that it is complete. If… Then… You already have an appropriate folder to save the file in.

Click: drop down arrow Select: Folder Double Click: Appropriate Folder Continue to Step 7

Do Not have a folder to save the CBT

Go to step 6 and continue through to the end.

Step Action 6. To Create a Folder:

Step Action 1. Click: Drop down arrow and Click: Local Disk C:

2. Click: New Folder icon, a blank folder displays at the bottom. Type: Banner 7 CBT Press: Enter key

7. Click: Open button 8. Click: Save 9. When completed the screen below displays

Click: Close

10. Log out of InsidePacific




Unzipping the File

The following instructions are based on the use of the unzip program that is included with Windows XP. This process can also be accomplished by using other programs such as WinZip. Please note that WinZip is not a free program.

Unzip Process Follow the instructions below:

Step Action 1. Open Windows Explorer:

− Right Click: Start Button − Click: Explore

2. Click: Folder where the CBT was saved.

− Folder Name Example: Banner 7 CBT − BannerCBT.zip displays

3. Double Click: Banner CBT.zip − Another window opens and one folder and one file displays

Step Action 4. Double Click: BannerCBT folder

Another window opens and displays several files

4. Double Click: Banner7.exe file and the box below displays Click: Extract All

5. Wizard Extract Window displays: Click: Next

6. You are asked where you want to save the extracted files: • The folder/directory you created earlier should display − Click: Next

• If the folder/directory is not displayed − Click: Browse and select the folder/directory and Click: Next

7. The Extraction Wizard displays the progress and when it’s

completed, the following displays:

8. Click: Finish

− Another window opens and displays.




Starting The CBT

Follow the instructions below to start the CBT:

Step Action

1. Double Click: Banner CBT folder − More files display

2. Double Click: Banner 7.exe file with this icon The dialogue box below displays Click: Run

3. The CBT will begin
