The students will summarize the crises that developed over Cuba by creating a time line of events that led to the Cuban Missile Crisis

Announcement: Chapter 20 Test April 27-tentatively Drill: Analyze the Life magazine cover on page 673

and answer the following:1. Do you think the Bay of Pigs invasion was a

success or a failure? What words on the magazine cover helped you draw that conclusion?

2. Whom do the writers seem to credit or blame for the outcome of the invasion?

Motivation: What would happen in a nuclear war? Can anyone win such a war? Which countries pose the greatest threat of nuclear war?
