PROTESTS:

Competitors desiring to enter a protest must lodge so, in writing, with the grounds upon which

it is based, with the Convener together with the sum of $20.00 as a guarantee of bona fides.

Should the protest upon investigation by the Art Form Committee, be deemed frivolous and

unfounded, the deposit, whole or part, may be forfeited. No protests will be entertained unless

made within thirty minutes of the Adjudicator’s awards being announced. If such a protest is

made before the Adjudicator has announced the award, such award will be withheld until the

protest is investigated. The decision of the Art form Committee is final.

In Loving Memory

Mrs. Elisabeth Alberts

We wish to acknowledge Elisabeth’s time on the Christchurch Competitions

Society Executive as vocal co-convener. Elisabeth was a kind and helpful member

of our society and she will be dearly missed.

The Ballet/Modern Jazz Committee also wish to acknowledge Joan Robbins

(Preddy) who passed away earlier this year. Joan was a wonderful supporter of

our competition and we will really miss her cheerful presence. Our condolences

go to her family.

Adjudicators: Gina Andrews, Wellington

Gina began dancing in her hometown of Nelson. Alongside her

vocational exams, she completed IDTA Associate level teaching

exams in both ballet and modern jazz. In 2009 Gina graduated

from New Zealand School of Dance.

After graduating, she freelanced around NZ, working with a wide

range of creative artists and performers such as Java Dance

Theatre, World of Wearable Art Awards, Pinwheel Dance Theatre,

and Capital E.

Her time spent in the health and fitness industry as a barre fitness instructor and Club

Manager provided valuable insight into exercise prescription, individual needs analysis

and a holistic approach to training.

Gina teaches in many dance schools across the Wellington region, including New Zealand

School of Dance and En Pointe Dance Academy. More recently her interests have led her

to complete a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training course, which aligns beautifully with

contemporary dance teaching principals.

Jenna Morris-Williamson (Novice Classes)

Jenna started dancing in Christchurch aged 4 and as a 16 year old she was accepted

into the NZ School of Dance majoring in Classical Ballet. During this time she performed

at the World of Wearable Arts and NZSD Graduation seasons.

Following this she spent 5 years dancing overseas in America, Canada, Europe and

South Africa. In the UK Jenna danced for the Pineapple Studios Dance Squad for 2 years

and performed at many high profile events.

Back in NZ and based in Christchurch, Jenna has performed at many events with The

Entertainment Company and as a Crusader’s dancer. She has danced in numerous

Showbiz Christchurch Productions, most recently in the highly acclaimed ‘We Will Rock

You’ and the Andrew Lloyd Webber concert series.

The Christchurch Competitions Society wish to acknowledge and thank the

following people and societies for their very generous donations for individual

classes, championship classes, variation classes and scholarships for the

ballet/jazz section. These prizes are given as tuition scholarships. We also wish

to thank those whose donations arrived after the programme went to print and

those competitors who donated on their entry form.
