CHALLENGE CUP: Presented by the Association for the Best Animal Bred in Ireland, to the won three times in succession, or four times in all before becoming the property of the exhibitor. Won in 2018 by David & Liz Mawhinney.

CONDITIONS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder to be the buyer, and if any dispute arises between the bidders, the decision of the auctioneer shall be final, or at his discretion the lot in dispute shall immediately be put up again and re-sold. The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse a bid of any person, and regulates the bidding, and no bidding is to be retracted.
2. The purchasers to give their names and places of abode in writing, and pay the full purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer (if required); in default of which the lot or lots so purchased may immediately be put up again and re-sold.
3. No lot or lots shall be removed from the premises till paid for, but each and every lot shall immediately at the fall of the hammer, be considered as delivered, and be and remain in every respect the absolute risk of the respective purchaser or purchasers thereof, and shall be removed from the place of sale at the purchaser’s expense.
4. All descriptions constitute a warranty, to terminate at 8.00 p.m. on evening of Sale.
5. If the purchaser shall fail to comply with the above conditions, or any part of them, the Auctioneer shall be at liberty either to recover in full the amount of the lot, or lots bought by such purchaser, without reference to any delivery or acceptance of the lot or lots other than the first delivery at the fall of the hammer, or to re-sell a lot or lots bought by the purchasers, either by public or private sale, or the deficiency (if any) arising from such second sale, shall be made good by the defaulter at the present sale, and shall be recoverable as and for liquidated damages.
6. No money shall be paid to the proprietor of any lot sold, unless the lot is cleared by the purchaser, and the Auctioneers shall not be answerable for any deficiency that may arise on the re-sale of any uncleared property.
7. Exhibitors and purchasers are to understand that although every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure the safety and welfare of animals exhibited, the Auctioneers and Association will not be responsible for loss or accidents of any kind, that may occur. Nor will the Auctioneers or Association be accountable for any accident that may occur to any person attending the sale, whether as a visitor, exhibitor, or in any other capacity.
8. The pedigree, history and description of each animal is guaranteed by the owner and no liability whatsoever is undertaken by the Auctioneers for the statements in the catalogue or announcements made at the time of sale, the exhibitors who supply such statements are alone responsible.
9. No undertaking of the Auctioneers or their servants to take charge of the Lot or animals after sale, or to forward them to their destination, shall be held to impose upon the Auctioneers any legal obligation to vitiate any of the foregoing conditions.

10. All unsold lots are at the risk of the owners immediately they pass out of the sale ring.
11. Exhibitors must provide competent persons to take charge of their stock up to the close of sale.
12. Should any question arise not provided for in the foregoing conditions, the decision of the Auctioneers shall be final, from which there shall be no appeal.
13. The Association reserves the right to object to any Entry or to remove any sheep from the Show without incurring liability for compensation.

N.B: THE AUCTIONEERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE CHEQUES AS PAYMENT.

WARRANTED STOCKGETTERSAll ram and ram lambs are warranted stockgetters. In the event of any ram or ram lambs, tried to natural service, not fulfilling the warranty, then claims must intimated to the Auctioneer within 3 months of the date of the sale accompanied by a veterinary’s certificate. The amount of the claim will be restricted to the purchase price of the ram, and will not include any loss of profit or consequent loss or any other claim.
