SIGNING NATURALLY Signing Naturally Level 1: Units 16 and Units 712, Level 2, and Level 3 are ASL curriculum materials, which are effective for the utilization of ASL instruction in the classroom. Each level focuses on different language skills, which will immerse students within the target language. The FunctionalNotional approach in Signing Naturally is the main teaching method used. Each of the three textbooks contain DVDs, materials, and exercises, which will benefit students as they practice their interpretive, presentational and interactive skills outside of the classroom.  For  Hearing  People  Only    The  book  immerses  into  131  common  questions  asked  about  deaf  people,  their  community,  and  their  language.  The  book  is  designed  for  those  who  have  no  prior  background  knowledge  about  Deaf  culture.  The  answers  to  all  131  questions  will  help  educate  students  about  various  issues  relating  to  the  Deaf  community.    This  book  can  be  read  independently.        

 ASLized    ASLized  is  a  website  where  ASL  educational  research  materials  are  submitted,  which  incorporates  visual  media  and  literacy.  Anyone  with  ASL  fluency  is  welcome  to  submit  their  ASL  literature  and/or  ASL  linguistics  projects.  The  submitted  projects  are  carefully  screened  and  selected  by  committees  made  up  of  a  diverse  group  of  educators  who  have  a  strong  background  in  ASL  Linguistics  and/or  ASL  instruction.  ASLized  will  benefit  students,  instructors,  researchers  and  anyone  who  is  a  part  of  the  Deaf  community.        

 A  to  Z  ABC  Stories  in  ASL    A  to  Z:  ABC  Stores  in  ASL  is  a  part  of  ASL  literature.  The  DVD  contains  twenty-­‐six  ABC  stories  performed  by  six  different  deaf  people.  This  DVD  will  benefit  advanced  ASL  students  who  are  seeking  videos  that  will  expose  them  to  advanced  ASL  storytelling.        

     Audism  Unveiled      This  is  a  powerful  documentary  film  of  a  variety  of  Deaf  people  from  different  backgrounds  who  share  their  experiences  of  oppression  in  social  and  educational  settings.  This  forty-­‐two  minutes  documentary  includes  director’s  comments,  extended  and  additional  interviews.  This  will  help  advanced  ASL  students  become  aware  of  the  real  meaning  of  the  word  “audism”  and  how  it  impacts  many  members  of  the  Deaf  community.
