Balance The Three Critical Elements of Static Balance

Instructions:
Watch the video before you do the activities so your child has an idea /refresher on how to preform the fundamental movement skill properly. Click the links below (underlined part) to take you to your child’s grade activity that matches each skill. After completing the skill, fill out the checklist with your child. Grade 3 and above should be able to tell you if they can do the skill or if they are still working at it. Keep practicing the skills you are still “working on”. Just because I provide activities each week doesn’t mean you can’t revisit activities you need to work on or enjoyed!

Balancing Act Equipment: Anything you can find!!!
Some ideas, pool noodles, pvc pipe, rope, ladders, painters tape, sidewalk chalk.
I made a sidewalk chalk obstacle course for my kids using chalk and anything I could find, inside and outside of the house!! Here is the course. I’m not ex-pecting you to have these supplies, its just an idea. Remember you can use anything for balance, like cracks in concrete, the curbs (with your supervi-sion), seams where concrete comes together etc. You can use inclines and ramps also

These are just a few ideas. On these side by side planks you can shuffle sideways on one, forwards, back-wards, shuffle side-ways with feet on one plank and hands on another
