  • Slide 2
  • ORIGINAL DESIGN Designed to be a seat that folds up and down and has a desk table that turns up
  • Slide 3
  • PROBLEMS WITH DESIGN The seat chair hits the desk if a person gets up that could cause computers and papers to fall It is difficult to pull a desk out if someone is already sitting to your right The desks are slanted and things roll off them easily
  • Slide 4
  • SOLUTIONS TO DESIGN Move the desk out further Make the desks stationary Put desks on the back of seats
  • Slide 5
  • NEW DESIGN Much like the lap tables on air planes, the new desks can be adjusted for distance from the desk allowing the user to safely stand up.
  • Slide 6
  • PROS AND CONS Pros: Maneuverability Ability to customize desk to student Can easily access desk when classroom is full Moving Parts are less likely to break Cons: Cost to totally re do the desks Would have to shut down the forum building during renovation If a desk were to be hit because it was left out it would be more likely to break then the original design Would have to use more material to make chair backs
