Transcript of Backup to DataDomain Disk Pool Failed With Status Code 2074 (2)
Backup to DataDomain disk pool failed with status code 2074, due to the disk pool in down status. The binary file bpstsinfo size is 0 on NetBackup server where credentials to datadomain are set up.
Error
1. To check the plugin library files installed, it can be seen under directory <install_path>/lib/ost-plugin on NetBackup server, where the credentials to datadomain setup:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3344996 Jan 8 2009 libstspiDataDomain.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3344996 Jan 8 2009 libstspiDataDomainMT.so
2. To verify the datadomain plugin information on the server, it could not detect any plugin information on master server. The following command does not display any output:
<install_path>/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpstsinfo -pi
3. The binary file bpstsinfo size is 0 on master server, which resulted in no output from the bpstsinfo -pi command.
Environment
Master Server: Solaris 10 NetBackup 6.5.6
Cause
The credentials to DataDomain set up on master server and one media server. The binary file "bpstsinfo" is corrupted (size 0) on master server, which cause the DataDomain Disk Pool DOWN.
ls -lt /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpstsinfo -r-xr-xr-x 1 root bin 0 Jan 20 10:18 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpstsinfo
Solution
Restore the bpstsinfo binary. One way to accomplish this is to copy the bpstsinfo file from another media server running on the same OS platform, same NetBackup version and patch.
