Reasons for hosting the Spill Forum • All spills prohibited in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area
• Operators must report spills to C-NLOPB
• As stated in the Acts, operators are responsible for spill response
• Operators must take “all reasonable measures” to respond to and mitigate spill
Given four spills since April 2018, C-NLOPB initiated this forum so that all stakeholders could share
their thoughts, lesson learned and collaborate on ways to improve performance.
