The DOL Wage & Hour Division recently conducted an investigation on two restaurant locations which resulted in the disclosure of FLSA minimum wage
and overtime violations.
The employers required servers to participate in an illegal tip pool, or tip sharing arrangement.
The FLSA states that tips belong to the employee who receives them.
As a result of the DOL investigation, 105 workers will receive a total of $232,295 in back wages
from the two restaurants.
