        COURSE OBJECTIVES

• Comprehend Italian by speaking and understanding through basic conversation

• Understand the grammatical structure • Expand vocabulary on a variety of topics• Ability to read and write short essays and

narrations • An awareness and appreciation of Italy and

its culture including geography, music, literary pieces, cuisine, etc.

                   LEARNING ITALIAN WITH                     TECHNOLOGY

Students will become members of safe online communities where they will be chatting with native Italian speakers as well as participating in discussions in Italian.  Online communities include:  • Twitter• Second Life • Learn10• Lingo zone• Skype In addition, students will have access to numerous online dictionaries, thesauruses, audio and video clips, conjugation trainer and more...

*I encourage parents to become familiar with this communities and learn how beneficial they are to education

           LEARNING ACTIVITY

Students will be using Skype for conversational practice with native Italian speaks.  I will collaborate

with an teacher overseas teaching English. There will be a language exchange among the students and they can assist one another using headphones, microphones, camera, and instant messaging to

improve their fluency in the language.  As an introduction to meeting their foreign exchange partner, students provide a list of questions to

interview their partner.  Once the interview is finished, the students will introduce their partner in Italian to

the class in a conference video call.
