Back to Africa Adventure 2011

This year we took some American friends for theirfirst visit to Africa and a mini-Safari. We flew fromWashington Dulles to Cape Town via Dakar andJohannesburg and then, after spending a few daysin Cape Town and up the West Coast, we flew toNamibia to stay with friends and visit the towns ofOkahandja, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and thenthe game reserves at Erindi and Etosha. For the Namibian part of the adventure, we rented a VW T1 Syncro AWD which seated 6 people in air-conditioned comfort and handled the many dirt roads and long distances very well (I did the driving). http://www.4wdonline.com/VW/Transporter/PiCs37/T1.Syncro.jpg
