Causes of Baby Boom
Some historians have argued that it was apart of a desire for normalcy after 16 yearsof depression and war
Others have argued that it was a part of aCold War campaign to fight communism byoutnumbering communists.
Older Americans, who had postponedmarriage and childbirth during the GreatDepression and World War II, were joined inthe nation’s maternity wards by youngadults who were eager to start families.
