1 LMT Applications
1 LMT Applications
This section defines the hardware and software requirements for each LMTapplication.
The term software refers to the software needed to run the different LMTapplications on the generic PC.
3BK 17422 5003 PWZZA Ed.20P05 IN PREPARATION 7 / 32
1 LMT Applications
1.1 IntroductionAn LMT tool is defined for each part of the GSM BSS:
The LMT dedicated to BSC management is the BSC Terminal
The LMT dedicated to transmission management is the LMT Craft Terminal(CT), also referred to as the TSC terminal
The LMT dedicated to the A9125 Compact TC is the TC Terminal
The LMT dedicated to BTS management is the BTS Terminal, for BTS G1
and G2.
The LMT dedicated to the management of both the single standard base
station configurations (GSM and UMTS) and the multi-standard base station(MBS) configurations is the MBS Terminal, for G3, G4, M4M, M5M BTS.
The LMT dedicated to the MFS management is the IMT.
These tools are PC based applications that include software and specifichardware.
Each LMT application has its own hardware/software requirements. However, one laptop PC is defined to comply with all individual LMT applicationrequirements and which allows only one PC for all applications.

2 Generic LMT PC
2.2 Software Requirements
2.2.1 Software Environment
In order to avoid having too many Operating Systems on the LMTs, theWindows NT4 OS that was still running in B7 has been removed. Therefore, only Windows 2000 and Windows XP are supported in release B8.
Operating System:
Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP.
HTML viewers:The HTML viewers integrated in OS are the ones accepted.
2.2.2 Language
As English is the official language for all the software designed by the company, and especially for the LMT, all the software required to run the LMT applications(Windows 2000, Netscape Communicator) are in English, regardless of thekeyboard type (QWERTY, AZERTY or QWERTZ).
2.3 PC ConfigurationsThe following PC configurations are possible:
PC standalone, to be used with LMT CT or BTS Terminal
PC with X.25 board, to be used with BSC Terminal (A9120 BSC, BSCOFFLINE)
PC with Ethernet board, to be used with IMT.
The 3 configurations can be hosted by the same hardware platform, allowingaccess to any of the terminal applications from a single PC (one applicationat a time).

2 Generic LMT PC
2.4 X.25 Board EvolutionsThe following warnings and recommendations must be applied to X.25 boardswhich are now obsolete, but may still be in use.
X.25 TITN board does not work under Windows 2000, and is nowobsolete. If a PC is equipped with such a board, the X.25 board must be
replaced by EICON C31.
The EICON C31 board for Laptop PC does not work under WindowsXP. If a PC equipped with such board is upgraded to WIN XP, the X.25
board must be replaced with a LAYGO board.
PCs previously equipped with the Laygo board and running under Windows
2000 do not need to be modified.
The EICON C20 board for the Desktop PC is now obsolete, and is replacedby EICON C91.
Laygo board (PCMCIA X25 - PC-ACB.MP) is not supported on D505/D610versions of Dell notebooks, only PCMCIA Laygo board MG100 is supportedon these..
