Haywood Junior High School recently released the results from the TSSAA Tennis Tournament. In the girls’ tournament, playing singles were 1 Mary C. Sharpe (runner-up district tournament), 2 Amanda Lopez, and 3 Robbyn Pocock. The 1 doubles team was Diana Meraz and Sarah Tillman. The 2 doubles team was Patsy Jameson and Dannon Eubanks. Other team members include Pamela Castro, Mireya Pulido, and Kierston Emerson.
On the boys team, 1 singles was Nathan Yoder (runner-up in dis-trict tournament), 2 was Avery Schwarz, and 3, Kyle Sills. Playing dou-bles was 1 Robert Allen King (runner-up in boy’s doubles district tourna-ment) and Dustin Kirby. Playing on the 2 dou-bles team was Walker Thornton and Ethan Riddle. Other members of the team were Tommy Pyron and Christan Robinson.

es the final game of the 2010 season in the dis-trict tournaments held in Brownsville Thursday. The Haywood County Lady Tomcat softball team was defeated 11-1 by Gibson County last as
they hosted the TSSAA District Tournaments, ending their season with a 6-19 record.

The Division 3 Brownsville cheerleaders placed third in the 2010 Young Champions Cheerleading Spring Competition held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Lane College in Jackson, TN. They will go on to com-pete in the Tennessee State Competition Saturday, May 15, 2010 at McGavock High School in Nashville, TN. Lady Tomcats fall in District tourney, closes out season
The winner of the Lawnmower from Haywood County Youth Sports was Homestead Pest Control.Receiving it for them is David Markowski.
