JA Musik GmbH (Markneukirchen, Germany) is a synonym for tradition of brasswind instrument

manufacturing. It goes back to 1755 - over 250 years of craftsmen who preserve and elaborate

their knowledge from generation to generation.

A heritage impersonated by JA Musik’s CEO Gerhard A. Meinl who is an instrument maker in the

7th generation and since years engaged in ITEA (International Tuba and Euphonium

Association). His life is dedicated to promote and advance the tuba and euphonium instruments.

Ein Erbe, welches insbesondere durch den Geschäftsführer Gerhard A. Meinl

The B&S GR41has legendary qualities that are obvious from

the first notes played or heard. It is enticing and exciting to play.

Sixty-five years after the last „J.w. York“ CC-Tuba was built,

the „Tuba you always wanted to own and be able afford“ is now a reality!

In contrary to the existing linkages, the new 3B linkage system uses

two steel balls in bronze ball bearings for each valve in order to optimise

the transmission: one ball connects the valve action rod to the bottom of

the lever, the other one is connected to the stop arm.

for this system, 3B stands for „Bronze Ball Bearing“, or in other words for

a steel ball that is held within a bronze bearing.

Additionally to this perfect gliding combination of steel and bronze, a spring

on the connector to the valve action rod keeps the linkage in an optimal

position to guaranteea perfectly smooth moving.

In the end, it does not feel much different from a string mechanism rotary valve.

Im Gegensatz zu herkömmlichen Druckwerkgelenkkonstruktionen

gewährleisten beim neuen inovativen 3B Gelenksystem pro Ventil

gleich 2 bronzegelagerte Stahlkugeln eine ideale Kraftübertragung zum

Ventil, und zwar jeweils am Druckwerkfuß und am Ende der

Schubstange zum Flügel.

3B steht dabei für „Bronze Ball Bearing“ oder „bronze-gelagerte Stahlkugel“.

Damit diese hochwertige Kugel/Gleitlagerkombination ihre Vorteile

auch voll ausspielen kann, sorgt noch je eine Feder am Druckwerkfuß

für problemlosen Lauf und einem der Schnurmechanik ähnlichem

weichem Druckgefühl.

The B&S 4/4 BBb - Tuba is a completely newly developed model.

Its sound is close to the legendary Tubas that once have been built in Graslitz , Bohemia.

Nevertheless it offers the quick response the Saxon B&S Instruments are famous for.

due to its “open wrap” main tuning slide the GR51 has a full, rich sound, in fact

much bigger than you would expect from a typical 4/4 Tuba

Die B&S 4/4 B -Tuba GR 51, eine komplette Neuentwicklung, welche sich im Klang

an den legendären Graslitzer Tuben orientiert.

Trotzdem hat sie die schnelle Ansprache, die typisch für B&S Instrumente ist.

Aufgrund des Stimmzuges in Aufwärtsbauweise hat sie einen fetten, vollen, aber seidigen Klang.

Die Bauweise ist gedrungen genug, um auch ein bequemes Handling zu gewährleisten.

- from the beginning you’ll have a comparable position as on a compensating tuba

- pull or push; the trigger for the 4th valve works both ways, thereby a relaxed,

ergonomic position of the left arm is always guaranteed.
