If stainless steel units are to be fitted inareas where they may be subjected todeliberate attack they should berecessed below the surface of the wall.A cavity should be constructed asshown . The inner cavity should be 76 x76 (mm) to a depth of at least 42mm.The second cavity should be 91 x 91(mm) and approx 7mm deep. Thegalvanised socket box should be fitted

with two wood screws and suitable wallplugs to ensure that the box is totallysecure. The cable entry should be eitherrear or side entry. For iniital testing andcommissioning use conventional M3.5countersunk fixing screws to secure thecall point. When it has been establishedthat the system is working correctlyreplace these screws with securityscrews. A gap filling epoxy cementshould be used to form a seal betweenthe stainless steel plate and the wall.

S0610 Mounting SpacerAlthough Stainless steel units are generallyintended for flush fitting using the galvanisedbox provided they can be surface mounted usingthe S0610 mock stainless steel mountingspacer.The galvanised box should be mounted in therequired position and the cable entries made.The S0610 spacer is then placed over the box,the relevant terminations made off and the platescrewed down on to the box. The spacer istherefore gripped between the wall and the

plate.
