COuntry: italy

BiOGraPhy: they asked me some of my works, but they also asked me to introduce myself with a little biography. usually a biography, or a self description, starts asking ourselves who we are; this may seem easy, but it isn't easy at all.who is Emanuele Cassina?i usually answer this question by saying that i do not really know myself yet.i am a descrete person. People who see me would say Emanuele Cassina is a 25-year-old boy who works as a salesman in the electronics section of a shopping centre seven days a week, almost every sunday, and this leaves him very little spare time for his passions: pho-tography and music. But i try to transform this disadvantage in an advantage, because, be-ing in contact with people, i can observe human nature and transform it in a creative way, so that i become what i wrote on my tumblr page: a free lover and a dreamer.I approached photography by coincidence, thanks to the offer of a reflex for sale where I work, and i started like everybody does, with landscape photography. i came in contact with portraiture, if I may define it like that, when someone called me to immortalize models for fashion shows.i've been practicing photography for four years now and, photography not being my profes-sion, i can say that it is a great way to take a break from daily routine, to free my mind and to truly express myself. It has also been a way to loosen up. I was very shy before discovering photography, and this prevented me from approaching people in the right way.Photography has indeed a great power, and portraiture has the greatest power of all: it is, for me, the actual and complete study of a person, of the subject you have in front of you. taking a picture is, for me, seeing beyond the things you see, imagine and bring imagination to the real world. i notice this almost every time, when i am shooting; when i'm talking to the model, telling her the mood needed for the shooting, i realize that i already have the photo-graphs clear in my mind, that i pictured them even weeks before the shooting sometimes. this, however, makes room also for heart and instinct, on the set.I never look for inspirations on social media or other specific websites. My only big source of inspiration are the artists of the past, that made the history of photography. Some of my idols are hamilton, lindberg, avedon and Bellemere within the contemporary artist.i had the chanche to travel to Paris, a city that i love, last november, to visit a lot of photog-raphy exhibition and the Paris Photo as well, the worldwide event of photography collec-tion. this travel really helped me, it opened my mind even more than before, because i had the possibility to have a wide look on the global situation of photography. in the end, this travel confirmed my point of view, which is the guideline of my photography: simplicity. I don't like too elaborate and fake pictures and i have another goal.On set, i let the model move as she pleases, but i pretend to see emotions in her. that's why i happened to see models cry several times: not because i hit them, of course, but because forgotten emotions and memories were coming back to their mind.It is not the highly expensive reflex that makes the picture, it's the human relationship that determines a good result; the model is not an object or a sticker on an album!i would like to conclude looking at the future: i would like to travel, to see what there is out there, to meet different cultures, to carry on with photography without having to think about my bills, which today is not that simple anymore. On the artistic side, i would like to experiment a little bit more; in Italy there are very few chances, the idea of photography is totally different from that of other country where it is seen as a real job. i would like to thank this magazine that gives me the opportunity to have some visibility and concerning this i would like to send a message to brands, magazines and people working in this area: give some space to young people who work seriously and deserve it.

Q: dO yOu haVE any PrOjECt FOr thE Fu-turE?i work as a lecturer at the Catholic university of lublin

in the institute of landscape architecture. Since i am

a teacher, i try to share my art-knowledge with others

and hone my skills. So my plan is clear - i must focus

on my PhD thesis. Also I have some new ideas for ex-

traordinary sessions or new workshops.

Q: ShOw uS (link) yOur VEry FirSt wOrk. dESCriBE it FrOm tEChniQuES till FEEl-inGS.https://www.facebook.com/totoro.adamiec/

the photographer's career often begins with having to

look for a model. i was lucky enough to have a beauti-

ful sister who stood in front of my lens first, and then i

was able to take photos. when the first session began

she was barely 14, but even then without any prepara-

tions she showed a significant potential. it's not just

about beauty, of course. Gusina is great because she

can laugh at herself. the session from photo took

place in 2008, when i did not have the slightest idea

about photography. my sister was a puppet on which i

could try everything from make-up to hair styling. we

did four sessions that day and interestingly enough,

each of them still looks good, despite all these half-

measures like flour used to whiten the face or rolled

up socks to lift the hair. the topics were strong that

when i visited our parents and showed them the ef-

fects of the work, i heard: "Stop this silly nonsense and

focus on your teachers work". today nothing can sur-

prise them anymore.

Q: what did ChanGE FrOm yOur FirSt wOrk till nOw?many things have changed in my life. my works ap-pears at fashion magazines and journals. the biggest distinction was for me a “picture of the day” on the Vogue italia, recommendation on deviantart and prizes awarded in Poland for artistic work. One of my photos was published on the cover of fashion-ency-clopedia Fashion Book Poland. my country becomes much more open for my kind of art. People value the creativity and understand what should relay con-temporary art or fashion. i've started organize a pho-tographic and make-up workshops. together with friends we assumed FOundatiOn OF audiOViSual CulturE (http://beetle.pl/) and multimedia aGEnCy (http://kaiju.pl).

Q: what iS art FOr yOu? ESCaPinG FrOm rEality Or thE ESSEnCE OF liFE?art work is a kind of therapy for me. in my work i’ve tak-en this kind of direction, because everyday bores me. Even as a child, i was interested more in what is unreal, and today i can off-load my longing desire through my art work. i’ve attained the whole artistic crafts during my landscape architecture studies. the creative pro-cess helps me to come to terms with my issues and shows me how to act to be at peace with myself.

Q: whEn did yOu Start makinG art?i started characterizing much earlier than a photogra-

phy (my first good photos were taken in 2009). i made

the first well-designed costume in 2004 - it was a gei-

sha outfit with accessories. my adventure with photo

shooting began in 2008.

Q: what dOES inSPirE yOu?nature mostly, its abundance of forms, structures,

and processes. using the patterns from the world

of plants and animals, by putting them on people -

hence the name of heroes of my photos - monster

models. in second place of my inspiration i would put

music. Everyday i discover more and more new mu-

sicians. Fully opening one's mind for the sounds and

trying to capture them is essential to understanding

music. movies and videos have a huge impact on me.

i fully recommend tim Burton, ridley Scott or hayao

miyzaki films.

Q: what arE yOur tEChniQuES?i do everything by myself. Starting from the idea of

the photo, with costumes, set design, make-up, hair

styles, and ending with pictures. i try to use unusual

materials such as wire, string, paper, and also tech-

niques from other fields such as floristry, art or natural

science. most of the time it takes to come up with a

costume. Several times i transform the creation, be-

fore it reaches its final appearance. this part of work

takes a few days or even two/three weeks. Before the

photo session (on the same day) i do make-up and

hair - i never plan in advance how they should look. i

treat faces of models as the picture surface. the pre-

paring of the model takes about 2-3 hours. the photo

session takes about 1-2 hours. the conceptual design

usually differs from the final version.

Q: what iS thE main idEa Or FEElinG BE-hind yOur wOrkS?I love to mix unreal emotions, fairy-tales and fashion

topics with each other. this combination gives the

new quality in this field, raising it to a higher level. the

term "modern fairy tales" has helped me to classify

what i do. in my pictures and characterizations there

is a lot of theatricality and unreal themes. the vision

creates an outline, but i work intuitively, and it gives

me a lot of freedom. i like to tell stories that cause the

feelings i remember from childhood. For me it is a very

sentimental journey. i quite enjoy making people look

at regular things in a completely different light.

Q: what wOuld yOu imPrOVE aBOut yOur wOrk and why?my approach to work is always very critical. i would

change a lot of things. this is the type of artistic de-

velopment. at some point we realize that we no lon-

ger like what we did, and we think that we could have

done better. Very often i see the errors in my work. i

find them in the choice of make-up, choice of emo-

tions, poses, places or materials. i have completed

over 300 projects in 4 years, so i have material to draw

conclusions from.

who is luca Sguazzini? he's not just a model and an actor. First of all, he is a traveller and an adventure lover, but to find out the reason why we have to go back in time.his mom and dad, Bruna and Claudio, get married and decide to travel all around the world. Their first stop is the USA: his dad is the CEO of Ferrari North America, while his mom stud-ies photography. they spend three years between new york and new jersey's woods, then they decide to come back to Europe and they set in Copenaghen. luca is conceived in Copenaghen, but he is born, the 3rd of October 1988, in lisbona, where he spends the first years of his life. He stays 3 years in Madrid and then he moves again, to Brazil this time, where he spends 4 years in Belo horizonte and 5 years in Säo Paulo. then, they decide to come back to italy, but in 2013 luca leaves again and goes to australia, where he spends a year working for a Farm and, then, traveling through the wildest parts of the country. luca loves to travel and, being a curious and adventurous person, he is attracted to the wildest places on Earth. He loves adrenalin and extreme sports. He wants to try ev-erything he can: sports, jobs, music instruments, food, cultures, lifestyles. he likes to test himself, even with extreme challenges. This always helped him to find jobs during his travels and to overcome any difficulties: that is how he gained the nickname of "MacGyver"...luca speaks perfectly italian and Portuguese and knows Spanish and English, he has manual skills and learns fast, he has great adaptability and knows how to survive in difficult situa-tions, due to the so many travels and experiences he made. There are only few things that scare him, he can recognize the danger and likes getting close to push himself to the limits. Lucas's dream is to transform his passion into his job: making extreme journeys and test himself with always harder challenges, extreme sports and breathtaking adventures. May-be, with a little help from his followers and supporters, this dream will come true. Everything he does, indeed, is done sharing his passion and emotions through a lens or a camera, and here it is the model and the actor again.

it represents the state-of-the-art in building design, at over 828 metres and more than 160 stories: Burj khaliFa is the tallest building in the world.

Built from 2004 to 2010, in just 1,325 days since excavation it becomes the tallest man-made structure the world has ever seen.

Bringing Burj khalifa to life required a combination of visionary ideals and solid sci-ence. In the process, the project amassed an awe-inspiring number of facts, figures, and statistics.

while it is superlative in every aspect, it is the unique design of Burj khalifa that truly make it stand out. the centrepiece of this new world capital attracted the world's most esteemed designers to an invited design competition. recently, the honour of design-ing the world's tallest tower was awarded to the global leader in creating ultra-tall structures, the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) with Adrian Smith FAIA, RIBA, consulting design Partner. The selected design was subject to an ex-tensive peer review program to confirm the safety and effectiveness of the structural systems.

the architecture features a triple-lobed footprint, an abstraction of the hymenocallis flower. The tower is composed of three elements arranged around a central core that emerges at the top and culminates in a sculpted spire.
