Deployment
Simple. Really Simple.
Deployment Options | Quickstart Templates | Azure Marketplace
• Request more cores à Support Ticket• More VPGs with fewer VMs in the VPGs.
• Monitor the ZCA Performance– Azure Analytics are great for this
– *Note – High memory consumption alone is not indicative of a problem
– High CPU = 80%+ > 20 minutes
– Network Throughtput
• Scale Out/Up for constrained system resources ($)– Deploy another ZCA
– CPU high? Upgrade the ZCA to a larger instance
Tips
• Public cloud RTOs are longer than on-premises RTOs
– ZVR requires writing journal data to the target disk before the recovery VM
can be powered on. This is called “promotion” and is different than
hypervisor-based target sites, where FO can take place without promoting
the data.
– Set the expectation first. Start with 1 hour RTO and build from there.
– Over 2 hours? Reduce the Configured History to the minimum value that is
acceptable. Lower value = faster RTO
– Alternatively, failover to older checkpoint. Reduces the number of journal
checkpoints necessary.
– Support ‘tweak’
