So why retire from the District Clerk position and then run for Commissioner Pct. 3? Well, when I took office as District Clerk in 1999, I became aware of the many problems that the county and my office faced at that time. I also promised the voters that I would set out to accomplish 10 goals. Over the past 20 years that I have served, with much research and hard work, I can say that I have kept my promise. Here are a few of those accomplishments: •Our District Clerk’s office is one of the 1 st to implement E-file in Texas •Implementation of new soft wear for jury selection to be automated •Implementing technology and soft wear throughout the county •Restoration Project of our Brooks County Courthouse/Historical Building •The securing of a 4.6 million dollar grant through the Texas Historical committee and being the advisor to the County Judges and Commissioners, keeping them informed, while overseeing the project’s completion. Thanks to all who were involved with the Restoration Project that stated in 2003 and to my office staff, who worked tirelessly with me to accomplish these goals, we now have a beautiful courthouse, representing our community that we can be proud of. I love this community. My family and I have been here for over 40 years. I am blessed to have a beautiful wife, Pua-Lani and 5 children, Nikolo, La-Nani, Keoki (whom we lost recently), Ma-Lia, Le-Ana, their families and 10 grandchildren, with one on the way. All my children graduated from Falfurrias High School and are proud Jerseys! We have a lot of memories and this is my home. I’m passionate about this wonderful community and want to continue to give back. I feel like I can contribute in the decision process and bring new ideas to the table. When I was your District Clerk, I only had a voice but if I am elected, I will not just be a VOICE but a VOTE as well in representing Precinct 3. I humbly ask for your VOTE on March 3, 2020, (early voting February 18, 2020), it would be greatly appreciated. Please come out and vote and exercise your choice. GOD BLESS BROOKS COUNTY!
