My fellow Americans. Wait, I mean, my fellow Key Clubbers and Kiwanians!

School, our lovely place of rigid structure and apparent learning, is upon us! For hopefully all of you, your first meeting has already happened! I hope it was packed! While many of those reading this are upperclassmen, I would greatly appreciate it if you would convince underclassmen to join Key Club as well! All of you should have received an email, but if not, here is a FANTASTIC website with amazing promotion material to put around your school and club room: www.pnwkeyclub.weebly.com/promotion.html . I highly recommend checking this gold out.

15. 15 is the golden number. This is how many people must pay $12.50 and fill out the necessary form for your club to become legitimate. By when must you have 15 members? OCTOBER 31ST. I repeat, 15 members must be paid for and registered in the Membership Update Center (all treasurers should have received an email about how to access this (It is currently inactive, but will be active soon), email me if you haven’t yet) by OCTOBER 31st.

You know the rules! Email [email protected] with as many answers as you can find to these questions! The school with the most points by the Alaska Rally, and then the end of the year will win! Go forth!! Pop Quiz:

1. What are dues for? 2. How much are dues?

3. What is the derivative with respect to x of y=x^2 ? 4. Who can run for an office position? Is it limited just to upper classmen, or..?

Alright, many good responses for this quiz! Sharon Hunter, for Colony, got question 6 and 7 correct! Tanya Charoonsophonsak of Dimond swept the field by correctly answering questions 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 right! This puts Dimond in a solid lead against every other school! Project Eliminate is a joint Kiwanis International/UNICEF project to eradicate all maternal and neonatal tetanus from the world. Neonatal

tetanus comes from cutting an umbilical cord with a dirty knife, among other things, and kills one baby ever nine minutes. This is unacceptable. Please, stand up and fight this battle with all of us. Last year the Pacific Northwest raised over $19,350. Let’s raise that number even higher this

year!
